Newb asking about Poorboy's Wax

I was over my buddies house the other day, Patrick Holland (also a member of this site), and I noticed that he uses Poorboy's wax on all his vehicals. I was on their website and was getting ready to make a purchase. I was actually going to buy everything they offered on their site but really wasnt sure if I really was going to need all of it. For example: what is the difference between the XP and the EX-P sealant? Should I just end up getting both. Their website isnt too explainatory on their product which is why I am here asking all you pro's. Any imput would be greatly appreciated.

The difference between EX and EX-P is that EX is a sealant with carnuaba, and EX-P is a pure sealant.
Some people like the look of EX on darker colors and like EX-P on lighter colors or silver. It's pretty much in the eye of the beholder

Hi Abrx,

Welcome To Detail City....

It can be confuse/overwhelming and yes sometime it not detailed....anyhow please list the products you were plan to order and we can make suggestion by add or removing or subtituting for you....by the way please tell us what you planing to work on year make model color....

Right now I have a 2003 silver alero but hopefully I will have a Nice M3 in a couple weeks. Right now I am not sure what color it is going to be. Hopefully its either going to be a blue or a dark gray. I was planning on just going on poorboys website and just buying everything they had haha. Everything looks soo good on the site I just want it all but I am sure i would be overdoing it if I did that. Here is what I was going to get:

1. Poorboy's Polish w/ Carnauba
2. Poorboy's Polish w/ Carnauba (BLUE) We have other vehicals that are darker so Im just figuring on getting this for them as well
3. EX Sealant
4. EX-P
5. Poorboy's Professional Polish
6. Super Swirl Removers (planning on only getting 1,2,3)
7. Spray & Wipe Waterless Wash
8. QW+ Quick Wax Plus
9. Bug Squash Concentrated
10. Leather Stuff
11. Natural Look Dressing
12. Trim Restorer
13. Bold N Bright Tire Dressing
14. Spray & Gloss
15. Spray & Rinse Wheel Cleaner
16. Super Slick & Suds Concentrated Car Wash

Thats pretty much it. I think I might be going a wee bit over kill but I will leave that up to you all.

That's pretty much it. I think I might be going a wee bit over kill but I will leave that up to you all.

I would suggest that you get P-w-C white or blue one will be enough no matter what color you have....One sealant should be enough as well...The SSR lineup is OK but the number 3 is pretty aggressive I've never had a car that was that bad....The rest looks good you sure will have all the right stuff to detail your hearts content

Right, the SSRs would be good but change the 3 into 2.5. One of the PwC's will do as well. The list is definitely complete, make sure you get some of the mega plush microfibers too. Give Steve a call or e-mail and he'll hook you up.

waffle weave MF/ super mega plushes/ velvet smooth/

The white P-w-C will do all the cars...I have a black BMW and that's what I am using....really up to you but I don't think that you need both

okay...seems like your ready to do mobile detailing lol..just joking....

EX is a sealant with carnuba
EX-P is a pure sealant

you cant go wrong with either its more of preference/looks
what i would do is get the EX-P and Nattys Blue(is a paste wax) so you would first layer the EX-P the apply by hand the Nattys paste wax (Blue)....this method is a two step but in my eyes worth it..now if time is a concern the you can get EX only and it make it into a one step which offer both sealant(durabilty plus carnuba)..

yes definately get SSR 2.5 add that
SSR1,2,2.5 now the 3 is up in the air you may or may not need it but it doesnt hurt to have it if ever need...it up to you....3 is more for vehicle with heavy swirls its very aggressive.....Remember always start with the least aggresive this apply to anything from pads to product....

im not a fan of QW+ quick wax plus but i have never tried it.....what i would do is reapply nattys blue anytime and as often as you feel just remeber to allow it to cure....

also if you want wheel sealant it a sealant for your rims....it helps protect your wheels and you get less dirt attracted plus it cleans dirt easier..just a thought

also just a suggestion but it not mandatory Steve at Poorboys give him a call and see if he still sales Foam Gun reason is you can put Super Slick & Suds Concentrated Car Wash and Bug Squash Concentrated mix it together 50/50 mix save time plus just the right touch....its not on the website but he maybe able to get it or not ask him if your intrested there are pic and videos around here to show you what im talking about...

everything else looks in order what you want....remember what someone else likes may or may not appeal to you..so you may just have to gun it and see and keep trying new products until the look that is desired....

yes this is half the battle of reviving the looks but the other half is maintaining it .....Wash .....mf,mitts,two bucket,WW dry towel, just to name a few .....:D

The other night he came over after a skking trip to get the stuff he couldn't fit in his car.. He was treated to a wash with the foam gun..

and i started pulling out stuff and now i belive he is hooked.. Once he polishes once i would advise him to get the SSR line but before that I would gladly help him out and get him to polishing..

Anyone know a site that sells this or should I just buy direct from Poorboysworld.com?

It is your choice, and we also have a distributor list on our site for you to choose from :)
