Hi. I am new to this board but i was referred here by e46fanatics. I have a question regarding touch up paint. I have a 2002 bmw 325ci the color is titanium silver but I had a tiny nick so small that you could hardly see it touched up by a body shop. The problem now is it looks worse. Can anything be done? My car was there for another reason but the manager said he could fix the nick. The reason why it looks worse is that the silver is not the same color. Can that touch up paint be removed??

Hopefully someone will be able to help now.

The paint could be sanded down with a small pencil sander or maybe mechanically removed with a dentist pick.

Ask the body shop how they will fix it.

GOt any pics?

Hey everyone, lots of changes for me to start out 2011! Last week, I traded in my beloved 2007 S60R, for a 4Runner Limited, 4X4. It KILLED me to do it, but with two growing kids, it was becoming more and more impractical every single day. Got a great deal on a preowned 4Runner with 18K miles on it, thing is brand new, still has plastic on everything! It's white, but it's in dire need of a detail, so I hope to get on that soon.

I also turned in my 2 weeks notice a few minutes ago (what a load off of my mind). The company I work for was purchased a couple of years ago and it's gone in the tank and is losing money hand over fist, not a good position to be in. I was contacted a little over a month ago by a company owned by past employees of my current company. They are overflowing with work and need me pretty bad. So, after a lot of thought, I've decided to make the switch. It's a substantial boost to my career path, something I just couldn't refuse.

So, anyway, lots of changes coming in '11 for me!

Sounds like things are working out nicely for you Zack. I know what it feels like to get rid of a car that you love. I had to get rid of my BMW a few months ago. I hope the new job works out for you....good luck!!

ps. when you get the opportunity to detail the new 4Runner, be sure to post it here. I would love to see it.

Thanks everyone, I'm really excited. It was REALLY tough to watch them get in my car and drive it away, for sure. I went back the next day to get something and saw some of the guys jacking around in it and it made me sad.

But, we still have our other Volvo and love it!

Thanks again and when it warms up a bit and I get this new thing detailed, I'll get some pics up!

Hopefully you didn't get a new wife and kept your "old" one. I say that in a loving way!
Enjoy the year!

Ha! Nope, same "old" wife, that's one thing I could never trade in! She's a keeper.

I can't wait to get started on my new job, I've been sitting in idle long enough, I'm going nuts.
