new WRX photos

mike: thanks, you're too kind :) I'm trying to leverage this into more paying work

spoiled: hahaha!

slow, scott: thanks :)

hirosh: I used my favorite topper, Photoshop :D

Actually, with the lighting like this, as long as the surface is clean of dust and prints it'll photograph well. The hood actually has a combination of products, as I've been playing around with different prep work, trying to maximize the real-world looks of what is a rather poor quality finish (by Autopian standards). It's got Zaino on the left half, #16 on the right half and a fresh #34 wipe-down :)

The stuff I'm trying to "fix" is highlighted in another thread over here.

Thanks again, guys. I plan on working up a whole WRX series.

Excellent studio pics. The quality is certainly suitable for publishing.

I'm also a designer at my day job, and I do a fair bit of photography too and I will say those are some really SWEET pics ...

Those pics are beyond words man! Excellent job! What kind of camera do you use and how do you acheive the surrounding dark effect? If you don't mind my asking...

Thanks guys.

I use a Canon 10D. I used the 28-135IS on these shots with a studio strobe in a 36" softbox positioned above the car, providing nearly all of the light (in a dark setting). Contrast is boosted a bit in post-processing.

I figured that was a soft box... so there was no other lighting really? I'm using the 20D right now and Photoshop CS2 for post processing, pretty nice for RAW shooting.

Is CS2 a lot better then 7? Im really itching to get it b/c it is so much more photographer friendly...

I may be reviving an old thread, but I had to say...if that first pic were available on a large poster, I would buy it in a second. One of my favorite paint colors, and a beautiful picture too. Awesome.

:wow:

Very nice. Not even kidding, you should contact Subaru with those and see if possibly they would be interested in buying them from you. I could easily see the second as a full page magazine ad.

Beautiful pics..seriously if you dont shoot pics for a living its something you should think about..
