new wheels

i finally received my new wheels a couple weeks ago, and have been slowly getting them ready to put on in the spring. they are 19x8 forged DPE R16's with a clearcoated over brushed face, and 2" polished lip. i've been using the klasse twins for the first time and i am very impressed with the slickness and shine. AIO, SG X 5. i will probably end up with one or two more coats of SG before they go on. i cant wait to try this stuff on the audi.

:bigups Those are absolutely gorgeous. You better post pics!!

Tip: Since you have the time, let each coat of SG dry overnight before remvoing the residue. This will ensure the absolute most adhesion. :xyxthumbs

wow, those are some purdy wheels. :D

i love the klasse twins on my aluminum wheels, they almost make the wheels seem like they're polished aluminum.

what car are those going on? i was thinking of geting a set of DPEs..... good value for the quality... on par w/HRE i've heard

they will be going on a 2003 audi a4. i am very impressed with the finish on them, they are just about perfect. they are still fairly pricey, but not as much as hre's.

Thats funny. Two guys from New England having to go to Socal to get wheels. I ordered mine through SupremePowerParts. I can't wait to get them on. Too bad its another month (at least) until that can happen.

One tip I heard over at Audiworld that I might try on these wheels is this: after applying a few coats of SG, on the final coat, leave the SG on the inside of the barrel and inside of the wheel face (i.e., don't buff it off, just buff the SG off the face and lip). Don't know if its going to help at all, but I think might give it a try. Anyone else here tried that approach?

I would think it would cause sticking and would just get washed off in the rain of couse this is after the bonding time so it wouldn't hurt anything..
