New Wax to Try

I'm new to the forum but have been lurking for many months. I have used Collinite 915 for quite some time and think it is the best wax I have used. I have tried Zaino, Griot's Best of Show and several others (Malms, etc) but none have given me the depth of shine and long life that I get from Collinite. I have not had any problems with application. I apply it with a sponge and then remove it with a MF. I think to avoid the removal problems, don't let it dry!!! That's probably where other posters are having problems, just don't let it dry. I'm in Texas and it gets hot here and I can get 2 months out of it, which is better than any other carnauba that I have used.

Great forum. I have really enjoyed the posts and have learned a lot by reading many of the informative posts. Thanks for allowing me my 2 cents worth.

4DSC...I looked up the same thing after I read this thread. Steveston is about 20 minutes away from where I live. I might have to check it out this weekend!

I wish Zaino and Klasse were so easy to find up here!
Yeah tell me about it! Pinnacle would be nice too (but the price in Cdn would probably give me a heart attack).

Are you going to try Collinite? Sounds like a good bullet-proof topper for Klasse which you can put a softer concours-type wax over. I'm trying something like that with #26 and S100.

Damn fine job you did. :up

BTW, I had to change the pic to a jpeg from a bmp and compress it about 50% so it would upload. Got it from over 200k to 49k.

Nice site you have, but those bmp pics take forever on dial up!

I currently have collinite #915 on my Emerald Green Accord. It has been on for 7 weeks and yesterday afternoon I drove home in a downpour and then this morning at the gym some guy tells me it looks like I just washed and waxed my car this morning. I took a closer look and was surprised at how clean my car was after drivng around in the rain. The Collinite does bead big time and looks good.

When I bought the wax the guy told me to be sure and not leave it on long before buffing and it would not be hard to remove. It was not too difficult at all. I plan to top it with some S100 this weekend - I may feel like it was more work to remove the Collonite after using the S100 because I am expecting it to be like butter going on and off.

Wow! Does anyone get that kind of shine using Blitz? I am relatively new to this board and have seen some pics, but that has to be one of the best shines I have seen posted. Does anyone else have any opinions regarding the light/angle contribution to that shine? I use Klasse and Blitz and have been tempted to try Zaino, but now after seeing that pic am leaning towards trying collinite next. IMHO I haven't seen any pictures posted by Klasse or Zaino users that have exceeded the shine I seen in that pic. Any thoughts?

I studied Blitz and Collinite for years and settled on One Grand.

If there were no Blitz I would be a Collinite user.

actually, all the pics of my site are jpgs. but I know what you mean, they are pretty big. I just put up some thumbnails for the guys on 56k so it loads faster. ;) :D

I'll try to describe the lighting when i took it. It was about 7:00-7:30, sun was going down, it was shining behind the car and onto that wall of the building. the car was at a slight angle with the bulding as well, but not much, then i stood next to the pass side mirror and snapped the shot. I actually didnt think that would be the best when i took it but it turns out it was.

That angle is the best! I should of patented that angle!!! :D

The meters off the hood of the silver BMW for members that remember that picture.......

After checking out your website I must say collinite looks very good (along with your work). That picture was really a great shot and make collinite seem well worth trying.

That is why I refuse to buy Zaino. I like the results I see in many of the posted pic's, but I feel that if I buy it I am reinforcing the inconvenient distribution strategy that Chief Z has set up. I mean there are no local distributors in IL (Chicago is kind of a big market) according to the email response I received from him, and he does not accept credit cards. Eckler's carries it, but I don't feel the price if as competitive as it could be if it were carried by more online distributors. This is to me is inconvenient to the consumer and by supporting it I would be delivering the wrong message, especially when Klasse and some of the other products I have seen deliver comparable/better results depending on who you talk to and what they are looking for.

It reminds me of all the Chicago Cub's fans who pay money to pack Wrigley field and support a horrible team. It leaves little reason for the corporate owners to change anything.

Kelly.

OK guys, I'm a ZainoHead, but I went to dccarcare.com and ordered a can of the #915 to give it a shot. Don, the owner at dccarcare.com is a real nice guy as well. Thanks!
