Just joined Autopia. My wife and I both recently bought new cars, and I would like to keep them looking good, hopefully for a long time. Not looking to go nuts on detailing, but I want to keep them looking nice with a minimum of effort.

Things are complicated by the fact that we live in Western NY (rough winters), and that we also have two Australian Shepherds that we take to the park pretty much daily, year round. Needless to say, the interiors of our cars take a beating, so I'm definitely looking for tips on interior maintenance. Both cars also have clear-coated alloy wheels, so one more thing to keep up with.

Cars:
2012 Suzuki SX4, dark grey (wife's car)
2012 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SE AWC, bright silver (my car)

Welcome to AutopiaForums!!!

I would think that something like BLACKFIRE Crystal Seal is going to be just what the Dr. ordered. It is easy-to-apply (wipe on and walk away) making application a breeze while protecting your paint and giving it a great shine. Best of all, it works great on wheels.

For best results you will want to clay the paint first, and use BLACKFIRE Gloss Enhancing Polish to prep it.

As far as the interior, vacuum, a lot!!!

Create WHIPLASH on paint, plastics, and metal!

To keep them clean, BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond Rinseless Wash is a great option.

Neither of your two cars are known for having the easiest carpet to vacume, so you might condier laying towels all along the floorboards (especially during shedding seasons). Try also to contain the dogs to one area and like Todd said Vacume often.

Having a dog and being a clean freak can be a challenge :nervous:
