Hello, I just joined the forum and find that there is a wealth of knowledge to be absorbed here! My current vehicle is a Mellenium Yellow 2004 Corvette Z06, overall it's in great condition and the brite color does not really show any swirls although I am sure they are there. It does have some minor "orange peel" and would like to take steps to minimize this as much as possible without compromising the CC. The last time I have done this was in the early eighties so I have a lot to learn with respect to products and equipment, I look forward to the Forum experience and THANKS in advance! :)

Hi and welcome to AutopiaForums! :yourrock

Even if you cannot see the swirl marks, a light polishing with with something like BLACKFIRE SRC Finishing Polish, Menzerna, or even Sonus SFX2 Swirl Mark Remover should make a noticeable improvement in the gloss of the paint.

C5 and C6 Corvette's are know to have heavy amounts of paint texture (orange peel). This is not an easy fix, at all, and given the usual hardness of the C5/C6 clear coat, this is a very time consuming task that requires a lot of skill. I would tread very lightly and garner a lot of experience before considering this level of paitn correction (wet sanding).

I'll :welcome: you to Autopia Forums with cautious optimism.....because I too have a 2004 Millennium Yellow Z06 Corvette!! :rofl
