New to detailing

Hey all, I'm new to detailing and recently bought a car that needs a lot of attention. The swirl marks are noticeable on a clear day (black car) and it has a few scratches (only 1 is relatively deep) and dull marks. I spent a few hours researching and learning about detailing and I've decided to buy the following products to get my car to the show finish. Any advice and/or information and knowledge is greatly appreciated.

I'd start with a wash, then clay the car (dry it very well). I'll start with the SSR2.5 and then the SSR1. I'll end with the Zaino Z-5 (1 coat) and Z-2 (1-2 coats).

I find the large (~6") pads are ineffective for correction via PC. I *GREATLY* prefer the smaller 4" ones; they're the *only* way I'd try to do correction with that machine.



Note that the Edge pads are available in 4". I strongly encourage you to go that route.



I have no experience with either the PB or Zaino, but I will say that getting *and keeping* a (used) black car good enough for Zaino will be quite a challenge as every little flaw will show (even with Z5, judging from the Zainoed cars I've seen).



I myself would do it with 1Z polishes and I'd top with Collinite brand wax, which is what I just did on my carbon metallic (sorta a metallic black) Denali XL.
