New to Autopia, not new to detailing

Hi all!

I`m a native Southern Californian and have been a car junkie since my early 20`s. I am new to Autopia but have had some experience and even sat through a few classes taught by Mike Phillips back in the day, when he used to be a Meguiar`s rep. :)

I`ve had quite a few cars that I`ve detailed out - a 2002 Saturn SC2, a 2007 Mustang GT, a 1963 Jaguar E-Type, a 2013 Mini Cooper Countryman, my wife`s 2016 Fiat 500X, and now my newest acquisition, a 2016 Mini Countryman.

I`ve gone through quite a bit of different things, from Mother`s to Chemical Guys to Turtle Wax, and found Meguiar`s to be the best and easiest to obtain back in the earlier years of the 21st century. That said, things have changed, and I know there`s been changes in chemistry and products being discontinued and introduced, so I figured I`d start checking on the forums to see what`s the new hotness. :)

Oh, and if anyone`s interested, the cars I`m working with are:

2016 Mini Countryman S, Midnight Gray Metallic
2016 Fiat 500X, Verde Toscana, aka Dark Green Metallic

Hi Sprzout1977 welcome to the forum,

I think you`ll find this group is well educated, and has a plethora of knowledge on products and technique. Most of us, myself included don`t rely on just 1 brand, but will mix and match products to achieve the best results possible. Good luck on your search, and throw up some before and after pictures of your Countryman we`d love to see it.
