New Subaru

Isewake- How did the decon/claying go? Was it one of those "eh, probably could've skipped that.." jobs or did you seem to get a lot off?

There was some iron contamination on the hood and small areas on two of the wheels. I did the baggie test and claying was needed. Glad I did both.

I second that on the chips. I polished with 205 on a uber polishing pad and used a finishing polish on a clean polish pad to get a bit more gloss. Then I applied opti coat 2.0. Search my user name I posted the who process if you care to see it.

Good luck. I would film the front end and hood if I had to do it again. It chips too easily

My Subaru has very thin paint which chips very easily. Careful. I like my combo of sonax and auto finesse.

Are you talking about Xpel film/? Do these films discolor and turn yellow?

There is a guy in HI who sells/uses an "eco" coating - what ever that means. Having a dark color, everything will show so using a coating that helps preventing swirls is the way to go. Do put clear bra on the headlights and put a coating over them. Leather - there are coating for them, so that again would be the way to go - can't help you with kids damaging leather, as a father, that is your job. :)

Not the way older-tech films do. Some of the new PPFs are really impressive and even though I geneally dislike such stuff, even *I* am tempted to use it.
I may end up getting a PPF. They don't make a bug deflector for the 2015 Forester plus I think it affects the Eye Sight thing. We'll see if the wifey wants it since it's her car. I've gotten to the point where, although I like the car to look nice, I won't care more about it than she does, since it's her car.

Looks like he uses CQuartz. And he's on a different island.
Thinking of just putting down a towel for them to sit on.
