And a roughed up 2001 Mazda Millenia had there first encounter and kicked off the 2009 detailing season!!

First off it was washed by the pull through (too cold and its not like it could make it any worse).

Then the fun started.

Oh yeah it was that good!! Up close and personall.

So I busted out the big guns - SSR 2.5 and a freshie fresh orange pad. Oh yeah, mated a new Flex 3401 VRG!!!! Speed 5.

I kept the PC with 4 inch pads for spot buffing and tight spots.

No 50/50 shots as the sun wasnt great to show the difference. So after that I moved on to SSR 1 and fresh white pad.

Now some sun shots after the two step polishing (no lsp or sealent at this time) ((Hooters for the win)).

Look at that clarity and depth!!

Then it got EX-P treatment.

And some afters - still no lsp just EX-P (it got too cold to apply souveren so that will have to happen in a couple weeks).

So after all of that work and it was a lot of work, let me tell you about the difference between the Flex and Porter Cable 7424. It was easier to get better results for sure. After a small learning curve. Even after a whole car I could still learn more over the next couple of cars. This polisher really bites and just works awesome. It is heavy and my arms still hurt from man handling it. Overall it is the best money I have spent on my car since buying the Speed. Not much more I can say that hasnt already been said and the pictures speak for themselves I think.

Well thats my story and Im sticking to it. Thanks for looking and listening.

What a nice turn around NRZ looks great was there no clear coat on the car i see your pad has some black to gray color on it.

Im pretty sure there was clear on it cause it wasnt that bad till the end. I think it was just some serious dirt after probably 8 years of never seeing a polisher or any type of compound.

Nice job. I really didn't like the Flex at first, but now I am doing a lot of final polishing with it. It spins backwards from a rotary, making it hard to steer at first.

Hopefully your first detail of the year will be one of many, and each will be lucky to get your touch.

Nice job, man. Glad to see you NE guys catching a weather break.

This is just my humble opinion, and I'm Poorboy's #1 fan, but holy smokes that's a lot of product in the EX-P shot. Have you thought about applying by machine at very low speed?

Great looking cars! Thanks for posting.

I heard the same from another friend. And the worst part is its all waste, that was just a combination of alittle too much on too hot a surface. I really need in invest in a canopy thingy.
