I know this is redundant, but hear me out.



I am a newbie autopian. (whatever that exactly means?)



If I want the car to look shiny, few swirls or scrathes as possible, what are the steps and solutions I should be using?



I have



CarBrite Crystal Shine

Mothers Carnuba Wax

Eagle One Tire Wet

Armor All Cleanser and Protectant



I know I need a paint sealant, tire cleaner, Maybe a QD. Please help me out.



Should I get a Foam gun?



Thanks in advanced.





P.S. I don't plan on spending an arm and a leg.
 
How much money you have?

Lots of good product out here.

I use the Poorboys line which is:

The Polish, a sealant, and a carnuba.

Mothers has a 3 step system thats good too. I would also

look into that. Theres alot of good info on here. Do some searching and you will

find some awesome finds.
 
So I should do it in this order



Wash, Polish and then wax?



Only Polish and Wax every so often?



What does a Foam gun do to help a black car?
 
For Tire Cleaner, Hi-Temp's Tire Cleaner is really the best there is, IMO. Excellent for both tires and wheel wells. For a sealant, I am not going to recommend a sealant. I reccommend Collinite 845 Insulator Wax. Easy to use for people newer to detailing, lasts a good long time (usually around 4 months at least) and it is pretty cheap, considering you get well over 20 applications for a 16 oz. bottle.



Are you looking into buying a machine to do polishing, or doing it by hand? I bought a PC 2 months after I joined Autopia when I realized detailing was something I really had a passion for. Anyways, for a paint cleaner, Klasse AIO is nice and easy by hand or machine. If you have swirls, I hear the 1Z line of polishes works nicely by hand and is easy to use.



You also should try clay, it is easy to do and really smooths out the paint finish.
 
I have an orbital polisher, I have used this on the older car, 2001 GP, and it worked fine. But it could have done better. It may have the fact that I have never used one before.



I just need to get a tire cleaner, and I have always liked Eagle One. Hence the name. Of course it really never had to actually do with the company, but the NASCAR driver who drove the car. But I digress.



Clay is not really an option, it really does not need it right now. But I did clay the GP and it did a good job.



I am not too familiar with paint cleaner or much wtih Insulator Wax. Sorry for all the newness, but I just think too much of my car, I really want to make the best of the nice cars I have. I will take a pic of both at a later time. Actually this is the Black car I was talking about.

btw, glass cleaner is important too. I have no problem on the outside, but the inside hazes all too much and want to eliminate that.
 
The best glass cleaner I have used is Stoners Invisible Glass. You may have to do the interior twice but it should be streak free after that.



I would definitely consider the Collinite 845IW as it provides amazing durability and protection and will keep your new car protected and looking great. I believe the key to keeping a new car looking new is protection and good washing techniques.



I have not used a foam gun yet but will likely buy one soon as I have heard many good things about their abilities to decrease marring. Much can be read/learned on Autopia about washing techniques and what products to use.



Very nice Altima by the way. Did you get the 4cyl. or the 6?

So wash the tires

Wash the Car

Dry the Car - Are chamois safe on the car/wax?

polish the car

put some paint sealer on

then wax? ie 845?
 
I just washed and waxed my Pontiac GT and here are the results. The first tire pic is with Eagle One Tire Wet, the second one is BEFORE Tire Wet.



EDIT: Sorry about the Pic quality, the sun just hid and for some reason, the color is off in the last pic. Weird. ANyway, SORRY.
