today my buddy bought a 97 cobra with a 9 month old paint job. it has surface scratches on it and some left behind compund from buffing, i guess..

I took my cutting pad w/ the pc and started to put sr2.5 on and made 3 passes over it.. still there is surface scratches. i dont think my pc can get them out .. mabey i need a wool pad or a rotary buffer... kinda pissed they didnt come out.. any ideas?

You could go to SSR3, or try a different compound. I like Farecla G6.

A rotary & wool pad is tough, but you get good results.

The scratches are probably from sanding. You will need a rotary and a wool pad to touch those IMHO. The pc probably just cannot achieve that much heat to remove them. If you do go the rotary rought practice practice practice. Its a dangerous tool especially with a wool pad.

I agree with Greg. For the first time with a rotary and wool pad, go to the wrecker and get a fender to work on. Wash it first, or you'll have fender and paint parts all over your shop. Find out what it takes to go over contours and how long you have till you burn.
