New pad for spiderwebbing, Audi paint.

Well....results are in :

I've been out this morning on the tailgate again for another 1.5 hours after a decent shampoo session.

This time I used the Menzerna PO85RD 3.01 and can honestly say that there did appear to be a better cut compared to the FF (which I should be expecting).

I still used the SFX-1 4" pad and used a little downforce on the PC at speed 4 - I just can't seem to get much movement at 3 (and sometimes 4 seems a little too stiff for my liking, but with understanding I need to use this speed to "apply" the compound rather than break it down). As the polish would begin to clear, I then applied a quick spray of Meg's QD and went over again, before upping the speed to 5 for a minute and then 6 to finish the breakdown (I just love 6! :chuckle: ).

After buffing off the polsih with a MF towel, you could see that the spider-webbing had definitely separated alot. It's still not perfect, but if I can keep up the regime I am pretty confident that the marks are gonna be gone.

I even done the hood for a quick pass (1 hour) with PO85RD 3.01, then applied the FF, and followed with the Meg's NXT wax. There were some annoying stone chip repairs (carried out by the previous owner I'd like to add!) in the middle of the hood which were protruding the surface. These are now flat to the rest off the car, and looking near perfect....again, this was accomplished when using the PO85RD 3.01, and I have never been able to get these flat using other polishes in the past.

One thing I did notice though, there was quite a bit off hologramming on the hood and was wondering if this would be because I had applied too much polish, or because maybe the MF towel was becoming "clogged"? After applying the wax by applicator pad and then buffing using another towel, the hologramming had gone completely.....so it must be something I had done with the polish I presume.

See a small area to see if the 106FF will help with the hologramming. Some will say you can't get hologramming with a PC, but I've seen it after an intense session with a 4" pad.
