New Optimum Products

I don't see any current method of applying a polish to a pad as a big time time wasting effort. IMO the true benefit of this compound will be if it cuts as good or better then M105, while leaving as good as or a better finish. If it can do that and pass a 5x staight IPA wipedowns, they might be on to something.

I was never impressed with any of the Optimum compounds or polishes in the past, so IF this really works, I would be very impressed. Time will tell.

I have to agree. I tried the new opt. finishing polish with high expectations, did not hold a candle to either Menzerna 85rd or 87mc on both rotary and DA and of course it was played up to be better than Menzerna. Just how every new compound is played up to be superior to 105... and truthfully, even if its "cuts" better there is a slim chance it will be as versatile.

So, WOWO..been waiting for a product like that. All joking aside, I don't think Optimum would make a bad product. Anyone tried it yet?

Yes I have tried it, although not very much.

My initial thoughts are that

a) The compound doesn't cut as much as M105 nor finish as nice, but in all fairness I have a lot of experience with M105 and very little with this new compound.

b) The polish has a similar level cut to M205, maybe a little bit less, but seems to finish out very nicely.

Also the compound kind of oozes out like silly string, so I may be having a problem with the sprayer (note that it is NOT the sprayer on the bottle but a sample sprayer), the polish is a nice mist.

Neither product is very messy at all, infact quite the opposite. The compound and polish dust slightly, and I never experienced any sling. A pretty novel idea, but I will need to fine tune my technique to get the most from these products.

Cool thanks for info, let us know how you like it with more experience.

As soon as I can my hands on some of the new OHC, I'm going to try it via the KBM on a G110v2. Also interested if it will work with the surbuf pads and a r/o.

Let us know how it works! I'm interested in seeing how similar it is to Meguiars 205/105 KBM system. I think the greatest benefit to the Opt polishes is their ability to be used in hot environments or finicky situation.

Since the OHC is a non-diminishing abrasive, I am interested as well. The polish is a diminishing abrasive. So for me it won't be like M205. I have no use for it.
