The True Do It All Towel

The Microfiber Clean & Buff Towel proves that all purpose doesn't mean low quality. This microfiber towel features a deep, plush pile surrounded with a soft red border. The dense microfiber weighs 380 g/m². It has a double-sided construction which features soft plush fibers for quick detailing and spray waxing the paint, door jambs, or wheels. It the backside features a shorter nap for increased cleaning action on areas like interiors, trim, and dirtier pieces. We always recommend keeping paint safe towels separate for those used for on dirtier areas to avoid scratching.

The Microfiber Clean & Buff Towel is machine washable. Use BLACKFIRE Microfiber Cleaner & Restorer to keep your towels looking great and functioning like new. The Microfiber Clean & Buff Towel is superior to the average all purpose microfiber towel and more versatile.

Todd, two questions:

This towel has a lighter weight than some at the same price. Can you explain what the weight means and why I would choose this one over a more dense towel?

Is this only sold singly or do you have a price for 3 or 6?

Thanks

todd how does the g/m2 number factor in the quality of a mf towel

Weight is a measurement of weight. :bigups

For example, 380 grams per meter square would means that for ever square meter of fabric the weight will be approximately 380 grams.

So a 16 inch (square towel) would weigh approximately 154 grams or .33 of a pound.

What are the factors that determine weight? How dense the pile is, how much the pile weights, the length of the pile, the backing, etc.

If we took two microfiber materials that had identical pile but one was 300 g/m2 and the other was 600 g/m2, then the 600 g/m2 would literally feature twice as much pile (per area) as the other.

However there is much more than meets the eye here. Different types of pile (length, cut, material make up) can have the same weight but very different characteristics. It is a meaningful measurement but it doesn't define the towel. For example two towels could have the same weight, but once could feature densely packed, short nap pile where as the other could feature loosely packed, extremely long nap pile.

A 380 gram weight is consider mid weight, where as something like a the Super Plush 600 (600 g/m2) is going to be a heavy weight with a lot of long, plush, dense fibers.

I love these particular towels because they strike a balance between softness and cleaning ability. They really are a towel that does everything well (completely paint friendly but perfect for pampering areas that need light cleaning power such as interior surfaces). Of course you don't want to cross contaminate towels so mark them carefully.

Right now they are only available in single units.

I prefer lighter colored MF towels so I can see any dirt/contamination on them better. I don't think I would use a black towel for paint work personally. They look very plush though, maybe they can be produced in lighter color(s)?
