Hi all,

I have an '04 black cobra coupe and I'm looking to build up my detailing arsenal.

So far I've used the following on my car (all applied by hand):

- 3M Swirl Remover
- Zaino Z2 w/ ZFX
- Zaino Z6 spray

The Zaino didn't quite give me the look that I wanted, and I'm all out of ZFX. I'm debating on getting the following products for my car:

- ClearKote Vanilla Moose
- ClearKote Carnauba Moose Wax
- PoorBoy SSR 2.5
- Porter Cable (what pads will I need for this?)

Is the SSR 2.5 any better than my 3M Swirl Remover? The car came from the dealership with some light swirl marks, and the 3M applied by hand did a somewhat decent job of taking care of that. Do you think the 3M w/ a PC will take care of it, or should I get the SSR 2.5?

As for the wax...is the ClearKote stuff really worth it vs. Zaino on my black car? I want the wettest look possible.

I also need something good to take care of my factory chrome wheels.

And finally...I need some recommendations on a good, general purpose wax for use on the cars of my family and friends. There's 3 white cars, 1 navy blue, 1 pewter, and 1 black car that I want to detail.

Thanks!

I always like to use Klasse AIO and SG for family and friends. Durable, easy and cost effective. I like it on white a lot.

I really like poorboys sealants .EX for dark colors and EX-P for light colored cars . Then top of with a paste wax like Natty's..One item you need in your arsenal is a clay bar.( fine grade for your black , and med for white ) a med would be alittle abrasive for your black and your trying to get the scratches out not ceate new ones. The clay bar cleans and preps your clearcote surface before you polish and wax. It removes pollution, fallout and general nasty stuff from the top layer ..

I recommend a Porter Cable with the upgraded pads with vecro backing and 6 in. counter weight. Most places have this package available with multiple pads..Good luck spree

Can't go wrong with a PC, some appropriate foam pads, SSR2.5, SSR1, VM, and a couple coats of EX-P.
I'll be trying UPP soon but you'll love the wettest wet look you can imagine.
