Hello all, my name is Patrick and I am from Virginia Beach, VA. Currently, I am in the midst of starting up my mobile detailing venture. I just got out of the Army and now I am able to do what I love, on my own. From lurking around the forums, I know I will be on here for quite some time! I have SO many questions to ask!!

So far, I have my LLC and business account set up. I am still working on the name. I have my inventory set and ready for all products and equipment but my biggest problem is... I don`t have a vehicle to haul them in yet! I`m leaning towards a 2014-2018 Ford Transit Connect for under 12 grand and under 80k miles. I have a 65 gallon water tank that I would like to haul with me. Even if I fill it half way, do you guys think that`s too much stress on the vehicle?

Welcome to the Forum Patrick !
A lot of us on here are Vets also, so you are in good company again..

I calculate around 271 lbs of water if your tank is filled to 32.5 gallons (half full 65-gallon tank = 32.5-gallons, water weight = 8.34 lbs per gallon)
That doesn`t seem like a lot of weight if it is distributed properly in the vehicle, i.e, not all over 1 wheel, etc...
I imagine, you will want to distribute all heavy things across the vehicle side to side and front to back so its more in balance and then easier to steer and less stress on one side or the other...

Find out the maximum weight that vehicle can carry and you can then add up the heavy things and see how it comes out..

I know nothing about Ford Transit Connect vehicles but I imagine you are doing your research on their reliability, engine reliability, etc.. Perhaps there are some Forums for Ford Transit Connect Owners??

We are all happy to help !

Welcome. These folks on here can answer any question you have about detailing. There’s a lot of people in your area, your business should do good.

Welcome to the forum. The payload of those vans are over 1000lbs so that water tank even full is much less than the maximum. Just make sure u distribute and center the weight and you shouldn`t have any problems.
