My name is Jeff and I am joining this forum after meeting alot of great people at the Poorboys Detailing Weekend. I am new to detailing and got some great tips, tutoring and experience at the event.

Main purpose for this post is not to intoducte myself but to say THANK YOU to RonKH who talked me through the whole process step by step. Kind of like how the control tower talks to a person who can't fly a plane and needs to land one!

Marge, PaPaHof, Kurt and beercan thank you as well for the demonstrations, advise and offers of your time/expertise.

Steve, Pockets thanks for your hospitality and for hosting the event. I hope you will do it again!

Ron, I really appreciate your lending me your Flex for the day and opening my eyes to it-This will be my next purchase. Is there more than 1 type of Flex DA?Looking for a recommendation on a place and a discount code-Anyone?

I look forward to learing here and contribution (one day)

Jeff

Welcome to DC. Glad to have you here.

To get the best deal on a FLEX buy a package (kit). If you can't find a package you like let me know and I will see if I can make you one with what you are wanting to get.

As far as discount codes, we offer 10% on all items in our store accept machines and custom items but as a detail city member you always get free shipping on orders over $95. ;) (You should have that code in your welcome PM)

Hi Jeff,

Welcome. Did the car turn out the way you wanted? (still would have loved to throw a coat of wax on it, even though you dont like it)

Look in the picture thread, I think there's a couple of shots of your car.

Remember to use the discount code that Troy was talking about. I always forget to do it till a little while later, so I never do it.

Again, welcome. Make sure you look around., there's alot of info here.

Oh yeah, post pics of your car, so you can show off your work. It turned out great, and it gives you a chance to show off a little. (tough car cuz it's black and you deserve accolades)

Welcome Jeff to DC :welcome: ... glad you had a good time and was able to learn what you wanted :bigups

Just remember the learning never stops as there is always something new to encounter ;)

Welcome to the forum Jeff. It was nice meeting you last weekend. Your car really did have a great turnaround. You picked up on using the flex real quick:rockon Hope they do a good job matching the paint when your bumper is replaced. :)

Nice turnaround Jeff, It was nice meeting you as well. They have some pretty good deals here at DC just looking at them. Autogeek I think currently has a sale on buffers but I am not sure if thats still going on. that could be another alternative.

Hey Jeff - Have you recovered yet? You were working your tail off!!! The car looked great from what I saw. Welcome to DC from myself, my wife Jen and the PB's mascots Spooky and Mitzi.

Car is in the shop Since Monday afternoon. If those guys can't math the paint nobody can. When I dropped off my car I had to wait for enterprise to pick me up.

They had a Mclaren, 599, and the BMW like the one James Bond drove forgot the name but it was sick. I am quite sure they will be able to handlwe my infiniti (LOL). I could sit there all day! They are a big fan of the Cyclo machines. Do you have any experience with them?

Hi Jeff, I own a cyclo and have transformed a lot of cars with it. The cyclo is a good machine but if I had to do it all over for nearly $300 I would deffinately buy the flex. I used my cyclo to polish the roof of the car that I worked on at the detailing weekend just because a lot of guys there had never seen one. The cyclo only uses 4" pads but now that I have a rotary I normally only use my cyclo for scrubbing carpets with the 4" carpet brushes that I bought from DC.com.
