New member, I've got a hyundai coupe in light metalic silver. When I detail it with meguiars 3 stage system finishing with gold class wax it looks ok, but I want it to look amazing. Can people recomend any good products to give my paint the 'wet look' and wow :shocked factor?????

Cheers for any advice

Since you are in the U.K. I would go with carlack 68 .. that will give you the wow factor

Not synonymous with wet, but my go-to on light metallics is Four Star UPP. You could certainly top it with wax for more wetness. I've got a pewter metallic SUV, and I love the look of two coats of UPP.

+1 for UPP on a silver metallic. I really like AIO/UPP combination with HGAS after each subsequent wash.

That said, I'm experimenting with AIO/2180/PW combination. Also AIO/UPP topping with Natty's after a couple of weeks when the UPP loses it's initial slickness, but still beads. I've found that the metallic flake stands out more with UPP (or EXP also) with a bright finish. With the Natty's Blue, the finish does seem wetter, but the flake seems flat. I guess it depends which finish you prefer. To me, I like them both, Haha. I do notice that I've been getting much less dust after the application on Natty's Blue though.

The first thing to do is make sure your prep work is up to par - clayed, swirls polished, etc.

From there, decide if you want a sealant that will last longer or a carnauba that will need to be applied more often.

If you decide on a sealant, I would recommend Zaino Z2 Pro or the Werkstatt twins. If you decide on a carnauba, I would recommend Pinnacle Signature Series or S100.

Thanks for the advice its a bit mind blowing though! To answer a few questions I have clayed the surface and it is swirl free. What is UPP and AIO/UPP? who makes it and where can I get some? What do you guys think about sonus and klasse?

My tips (learned here) for silver cars would be:

1. Spend lots of time preparing the paint surface (before polishing/waxing).

2. (See point 1)

3. Layer your sealant/wax.

4. Ensure tires and trims are kept clean.

AIO is Klasse All-in-One and UPP is Platinum Ultimate Paint Protectant.

If you are interested in Klasse products, I would suggest checking out Jeff's Werkstatt products - they are updated versions of the Klasse products. You can get it in the UK here: http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/

Chech out the decoder ring link on the main forum page.

UPP - Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection

AIO - Klasse All-In-One

AIO/UPP is just a combination of AIO followed up by UPP.

I really do like Klasse AIO and use it as a paint prep for LSP whether I am using a sealant or a carnauba. I've noticed pretty good durability in products that others have complained about poor durability (i.e. UPP) and I think that's linked to the good bond with prepping the paint with AIO. I also use it on my wheels and exterior glass other than the windshield.

Only Sonus product (other than wash mitts and MF towels) that I have is the Acrylic Spritz, but don't use it much. Bought it as a companion to Klasse SG, but don't actually use SG much. I have an almost full 33 oz size too.

AIO/UPP definately looks great. However, I am really digging the way OCW looks on my silver metallic scion.
