New Mayor In Town!!

It may be time to just go to Poorboys forum and use another DC for more info/discussion. HMMM!!! Ill see and it seems others will too.

...One other thing that makes DC so great is we have the best moderator on the internet Ole GH does an outstanding job.
If I could just talk him out of them MUDSTAINS and into a real car. :rofl

You know I can't afford a plastic Cheby, I spent all my money on guns. ;)

I'm kiddin' on the Cheby of course.

HMMM!!!!( That means Randal is thinking). My opinion at this time. HMMM!!! I dont mind the forum being owned by PBMA, as a sister/cousin to AGO, BUT!!!!!! I dont care for being connected to or under Autopia. Theres a reason why most are here and NOT there. If I wanted stuff from there Id go there. But I just dont! As for AG, if Steve doesnt have what I want I go to AG. AG/PBMA owning DC doesnt bother or surprise me. Maybe would have been better if the Autopia name/usage had not been brought up. But then Im just an IOWA Farmer and dont know anything.

Hey Randall, just want to clarify, PBMA is the umbrella that Autogeek.net and Autopia-Carcare.com are under, but they are two seperate entities.

You've been here a long time and I appreciate and respect your input. This is the type of feedback we like to hear so we can clear up and confusion.

From reading your post, seems like you may be mistaking Autopia names here. www.Autopia-CarCare (which is what we are) and Autopia.org are completely unrelated. From what I understand, that is a separate discussion forum, that we or PBMA have no connection or ties with.

I hope that clears up confusion and I hope you continue to stick around. Please feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.:D

I'm just gonna throw this out there, not coming from a position of being "in the know" 'cause I'm not just coming from a position of being around for a while. Change and the unkown it brings along is often uncomfortable and sometimes inconvenient, but it can also be exciting. Sometimes change is for the better, sometimes for worse, and sometimes just different. I'm just guessing here, but none of us know what this change will bring to DC, probably not even John. I think all of us hope for the best possible outcome. It seems that the prudent course of action would be for us all to continue our course until such time that John tells us that a new course has been set.

For those who have bad feelings about Autopia, please be reminded that Autopia is there and we are here. We have some crossover members (residents) but we have mostly managed to coexist and enjoy each other's comaraderie.

I don't (think) I know John, but I'm not packing up the household goods and looking for a new city in which to reside. It's a new year, we have a new mayor, but we are the same City. Let's be positive, hang in here as a community and see what the future holds.

John,

Its interesting that the name Autopia-Carcare was used, when its not affiliated with the Autopia forum web site. Seems confusing to me and I would bet a lot others.

Autopia is close to a brand name on the net for its forums. I'm glad that you cleared that up, because I too like Randal was thinking it was one in the same.

:bow:bow:bow

So brilliantly put. I sure am privileged to have a staff of stand up individuals, and a community so well put together. Will only make it better for everyone in the long run.:D

I'm glad this was clarified because I was under the impression DC was now under the ownership of Autopia.org, and I had all but bid my farewell to DC.

I would hope you might give this a chance and bare with us through the changes before making any final decisions. It could be just the shot in the arm that most of us didn't think we needed. It could turn out to be a really good thing.

I think DC could use a shot in the arm and this has to be an opportunity to make it better.

I see the sponsorship forums are gone but we got a hint of this a few months ago based upon some username changes and other postings.

Let's hope Forrest at Mothers, Chris/Dr.G at Optimum, Eric at Lake Country, etc. still stop by in addition to Steve who still has a forum in the off topic area.

I had forgot that the 2 were not connected but the name is still confusing! OK OK ILL STAY and shut my mouth. Just went to Autopia carcare website and hit forum and Im back. HMMM interesting. Now I see say the IOWA BOY!!

My understanding is that the two were split due to the mismanagement of the Autopia brand by its original owner/founder, and sadly that does cause confusion for those who were around in the old days, left for a while, and are now coming back.

I actually even remember a time when the forum now known as autopia.org resided at the autopia-carcare.com address, but that was in the very, very early days of its existence.

Here's to nursing the "good" side of Autopia back to health! :bow

I thought David B took over the web site and David O took over autopia products as the start of the separation. David B sold the forum to 3D. Autopia car care lost its marketing venue and here they are.
