Whats up!

I've been lurking the forums for a few days, have seen some very talented detailers on this forum. Most importantly, these detailers here share their knowledge for the ones that just want to learn a few tricks to prevent messing up some paint on a simple wash job. I really appreciate it, and I've registered to show I want to be apart of the community that is so helpful. I notice there are some really good detailers in northern virginia, you may be getting a PM!

My poor black metallic pearl 2006 VW GLI (see my name, ScrubADub hehe) needs as full of a detail as possible. Never been detailed before, needs paint correction, came with slight orange peel straight from factory. Drove it through the auto car washes a few times, etc.

Just recently I've really decided to take a lot better care of the paint, and just be more careful. I've had some issues that made me deflated, not really wanting to bother caring for the car as much anymore, just bad luck with stupid people. But, it ended up making me more determined because I love the car and I've done alot of performance stuff to it.

My current wash setup after reading some things (my technical expertise goes only to washing the car really):

two bucks, one water, one soap

three-four microfiber mits, one dark blue used on the wheels.

Products I use:

DP (Detailers Pride) xtreme foam shampoo (on the fence on this, I was using meguiars mirror glaze prior to this, and almost went with mequiars NXT car wash)

DP Total Interior Cleaner (this stuff is really REALLY nice)

I'll be posting on the forums from time to time to ask questions, but wanted to introduce myself.

Hellooooooooo!!
