I took this post from UBRF.org, it looks like something that would be pretty cool, especially if griots is buying into it!

Ever wash you car and get the hose wedged under the tire trying to reach the backside of the car? Well simply drop this infront of the tire and give it a little kick to wedge it under.



Not only is it great for washing your car, but electrical cords (when buffing) as well as air lines when painting.



His first prototype was simply cutting a bowl in half...and it developed into this....granted, it's not going to win a Nobel Peace Prize... but it will make him a few extra bucks



Anyway...here are some of the prototypes he used to get distributers to purchase the item. My dad does have a patent on this as well. Right now they are in stores on the West coast...it'll take a couple months before the reach the East coast.

My dad just retired, so i'm glad this thing finally went through and will maybe get him some extra spending cash. :tup:

Looks like it would work but not worth the money IMO.



Now if only they could find a solution to a kinked hose!



edit: I just saw it was $13 for 4 (originally thought 1). Not too bad. Shipping wil probably set you back a few bills, if they ever show up in pep boys or the like, I may invest in them. Chances are they probably will, and I think they would sell pretty well.
 
I bet it would work really well if some type of roller could be incorporated into the bottom so that the hose would glide across it. Great idea!!
 
Give me a break! Just another thing to take out and put away! Learn to yank some slack into the hose when you are going around the corner of the car. That has to be faster than finding these things, putting them in place, and taking them out after (ever forget to remove a wheel chock?).

They thought about that, but what it came down to was the KISS method, Keep it simple stupid. They didn't want any extra parts that could wear or break, and the rubber hose glides smoothly across the plastic according to Josh. I havent had a chance to try them out, but i am sure that i will in the near future!
 
I took some gallon milk jugs a used a razor to shape them so they slide under tire and around tire....works ok...cost me nothing.
 
Even if it works great I think it would be easier to just learn to give yourself a bit of slack.
 
Really nice! I might not get them, but someone will. And, cheaper than buying a couple buckets and slicing them up.

It's in the catalog already! Seen it and thought similar to hose guide in a way used for gardens, you know, the one with a roller wheel on a stake?

It takes 1 second to flick the hose around each tire...........



I guess some people will buy these, store them in the garage, take them out b4 washing, take the time to bend down and put one under each wheel, then after washing the car, take the time to bend down and remove them, store them in the garage.............



This reminds me of the automatic candle snuffer (a nod of the head to 'Last Comic Standing")
 
I hardly ever have problems with the hose sticking around tires. Just learned to put enough slack in it.



Now, the problem I have is when I come around the back of my truck it catches the exhaust tip and likes to run up the exhaust pipe.
 
It's kinda like inappropriate technology to me. Like booting up your PC to use the calculator to balance your checkbook. Just get the calculator in your desk drawer.
