OK I have been a lurker for a while, decided to finally sign up and ask some questions. Lets start off..hmm...im a detailer at a local car lot. We work with the normal "detail hack" supplies. Autosheild APC, Blue tire dressing, acid, etc. Now I have learned to buff with a rotary there, but we use their junk glazes and what not. So I have some questions and If I could get some help itd be GREATLY appreciated!
Ok so Im familer with LC pads, just the black foam, blue foam, and the white "swirl free" pad as we call them, the "Durastrand" I guess is the name of it. With the glazes we use, "Dominator" and "Sleek" they dont remove many swirls in the paint, spiderwebs etc from poor washing. Even with a blue cutting pad and the "Dominator" still nothing. So my question is, what type of pad do I need to be using, or is it the compound or glaze, that I need, to actually work the paint and get rid of defects? I am willing to spend around $100 or so to get a couple pads and some supplies, so If you guys could just help me with that 1 problem that would be GREAT! I have read a lot about Menzerna SIP, been thinking about giving it a shot. Also, when you guys are buffing with a foam pad, do you buff untill all the compound/glaze/polish is removed? I appreciate all further help! Thanks!
