Hi everyone! My name is Shawn and I live in Dallas, TX and I just started my mobile detailing service after doing it for years for friends and family. Been spending the past week since I started it trying to make the phone ring. I'll take just about any (good) suggestions on startup. I've got a trailer with my own water and electricity source and just about any other goody i could fit into my Jeep. Hope to learn and discuss many good stuff here in the forums.
Take care!

Hey Scott.
Well my setup, so far, includes my trailer which has a 100 gal water tank, a 5hp Honda generator and a 5hp Honda powerwasher. I've got a 6.5hp dry/wet shopvac and a Delta 125psi air compressor. I use a 5 speed Millwakee buffer, which is a bit heavy but otherwise bulletproof. I'm still trying to figure out which pads I like most...it seems like I favor foam so far. Any suggestions from you pro's on the pads will be greatly appreciated. I found a good dealer for Car Brite products so for time being I'm using pretty much only their stuff, except for my Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner.
Two questions for you guys/gals:
1) do i have to spend the big bucks for the EZ UP canopy, or are the knockoffs just as good?
2)do i HAVE to get a water retreival system or will I be ok without one?

I'm sure I'll come up with more questions as I go through this new endeavor of mine.
-Shawn

Greetings and :welcome to the DC . Good luck on your new venture.

The E-Z UP brand is much better then the knock offs in my opinion. You can buy E-Z UPs at BJ's wholesale club ,up here they run around $179 .

Whether you need a water retreival system is up to your county laws. Also if you plan on doing work at office parks most of them require this.
