Hey dudes-

I have been lurking for a while now, finally decided to post and say Hi. I have always loved trying to get a car as clean as possible, but I think my best "detail" was more like a glorified car wash that took all day. lol

Anyway, I finally tried a clay bar last week and love it. The next step is to get a PC or something.

Oh yeah, I love cars. I recently built a 1965 Cobra replica (Factory Five). Sold it a few months ago due to the economy. It was a great experience and a ton of fun though.

Anyone else in the Sacramento or Elk Grove area? I'm in Laguna.

Looking forward to learing more on this site. Here's a pic of my car.

later-

Justin

Welcome to Autopia, Justin. Nice looking FF Cobra. How long did it take you from start to finish? did you use a wrecked Mustang as a donor?

Thanks David. It took about 14 months to build, including body work. Yep I used a wrecked 1990 5.0 as a partial donor. I ended up using the motor & trans and a few other small parts from the donor. All in all, the car was pretty well optioned, with IRS, stainless brake and fuel lines, Autometer Vintage guages, SN95 brakes, and and some custom frame mods. Not the most powerful car in town, but at 2150lbs it was a blast to drive. My son is 2 months old and we are already planning to do a build together when he is older. :)

I looked into building one a couple years ago. Thought it would be a fun project. Sounds like you had a good experience with it.
