New guy from Washington.

I have a sample of this product. I had a chart somewhere that listed Automotive International's product along with 3M and Meguiar's in terms of strength. I think the machine polish is closer to Finesse It II (maybe milder but stronger than 3M SMR.) Its just a guess though.

If this polish performed like the Clear Coat Compound, it will be replacing my 3M Finesse It II. Took minimal effort to apply the Clear Coat Compound and it came off like a dream. I had to use some QD with 3M to get the residue off a real PIA.

I'll try again later today to find this chart,

Jason

EDIT: If you go to product #2 in the link, its the Clear Coat Compound.

Jason,

Do you still have that chart? Could you please post it if you do?

If I'm reading yout post correctly, the Autoint CCC = 3M-FI2, and the MP/SR = 3M-SMR (but the MP/SR may be just a little bit more aggressive). Could you please comment? If the Autoint stuff comes off easier, I may use it instead of the 3M-SMR. The Autoint products are certainly cheaper!

Thanks.

CCC = Clear Coat Compound

MP/SR = Machine Polish/Swirl Remover

I found it, it was right under my feet, literally! It was with my computer paper. Ah nothing like reading Automotive International's catalog and price list before hitting the rack.

ok here goes the chart info,

VG-302 Heavy Duty Cutting compound is similar to 3M Suprduty Rubbing Compound, Meguiars M-85 Heavy duty Cleaner Diamond cut or #1.

VG-303 Clear Coat Compound is similar to 3M Micro Finish Liquid, 3M Light Duty compound, or 3M Perfect It Rubbing Compound Medium Cut, or Meguiar's #4 Compound or Compound Powercut #M-84.

VG 301 Machine Polish/Swirl Remover is similar to 3M Perfect It, Finesse It, Finesse It II Machine Polish, or Meguiar's MAchine Glaze #3, Swirl Free Polish, D.A M-83 Cleaner Polish.

VG-304 Finishing Wax (decent product, I probably have to use it a little more and vary my technique with it to make application and removal easier) is similar to 3M Hand Glaze, or Meguiars Hand Polish #M-81 or #26 wax liquid.

Automotive International makes some very good no nonsense products. they get the job done. No fancy smells or the like. Just good old workhorse product. But the experience with Pinnacle Souveran will have me running to the tropical islands hahaha :)

Thanks a lot, Jason. I'll save that info.

That information came out of AutoInt's catalog? I didn't know they had a catalog! I guess I'll have to reqest one. I know what you mean about the smells -- I like my detailing products to smell like chemicals, not candy. I just got my ABC system yesterday, and of course I had to smell each one. There really isn't much of any kind of a smell to them.

I'll probably order some of the MP/SR in the near future.

Thanks again.

It was actually a sheet (very ncie one) that came with a catalog and price list.

I have an extra one so if you PM/e-mail me a mailing address, I'll put it into the mail. EDIT: The four body shop product line sheet (not the catalog, only got one of those.)

Hello you guys. I'm Joshua, from Washington. They've been nagging me about introducing myself, so I thought I'd give it a try.

I live in Arlington, north of Seattle, and am the proud owner of an '03 Blazer, and a "00 Chevy Prism.

( I get off when the guy at Jiffy lube tells me that my car is the cleanest he's ever seen ).

So I look forward to "meeting" people here, and becoming a productive member of this forum.

Moss,

Welcome to the Forum !

I live in Bellevue, south of you by a long ways I believe.
Are you off of I-5 north of Everett then?

Anyway, enjoy your stay here - not sure how long this Forum is going to be up, as the Owner of the business associated with it, has sold off his Inventory, I believe closed down his on-line store, and am not sure how long this place will be up.

In any event, there used to be a great bunch of people contributing here; they may still be around, but Im not sure of that either.

Glad you have the Detailing gene going on, I certainly do !
Let us know what is going on up your way, we are glad to help with advice, etc..

Dan F
