New guy from Atlanta

Hi everyone. My name's Brian and I'm a 3D rendering guy, living on the north side of Atlanta. I've been a gearhead since I was born. I love cars, bikes and love cleaning and polishing them. To me, it's more therapudic than it is work. I'm still learning though, and that's why I'm here. I want to be able to keep my car looking 100% until the day it dies. I also like doing some of my friend's and family's cars, but don't have any intentions of going pro.

Here's my ride after a polish session a couple weeks ago, a 1996 Mercedes E320 with 245,000 miles:

Thanks guys!

Bryan- I've had it for a couple years. My dad bought it new in '96 up in Michigan and racked up the miles until it wasn't worth much in trade in, so I picked it up for cheap. I've had to replace a bunch of stuff to get it reliable and driving good. It also had a near total repaint last November because it was getting a bit rusty. Part of the project of the day I took that pic was to get rid of the swirls from the body shop buffing it out.

musicdjs- This was by hand, I've got a Dewalt rotary but it's up in Michigan at my dad's place. I need to go back over it with that to take care of some fine scratching left by the body shop. Maybe I'll make a thread about it now that I'm at 10 posts.

Hey, I'm new at this forum stuff, perhaps you can tell me how to begin a new thread. I always thought there were restrictions for newbies.

I always feel weird welcoming people when I'm new, but welcome! Hope we have a good stay.

where do you work? any jobs for a stress analyst?

Wish I could help, but I don't know of any engineering places around. I occasionally have projects I'd like to see a stress analysis study on, but doubt I could afford it. I work at a graphic design studio doing 3D renderings for new products. Here's an example of the type of work, but with a project of my own:

Welcome to Autopia! I'm in Alpharetta myself.

Thanks! Mmm, you've got one of my favorite car in the proper color too. Hopefully I'll get a chance to check that out. I'm currently between Roswell and Sandy Springs, but I'm looking for a small house to buy either in Alpharetta or Marietta.

Welcome, nice looking E class!

Thanks, I appreciate it! It was in pretty sad shape a couple years ago and I'm trying to bring it back as close to 100% as possible.

Thanks Mike! Lol, took me a second to figure out what Jawja was. I just moved down here from Michigan a little over a year ago. People keep asking if I'm from Canada :grinno:

Great color! Gorgeous when it's polished :2thumbs:

Thanks! It really is a sharp color, lots of subtle flake. Makes you work, but still not quite like black
