new foam pads getting cut up on the velcro lining

prior to both incidents i left the pads soaking over night in a 5 gallon bucket filled half way and an ounce of laundry detergent. i woke up the next morning before the detail and i wrung em out a couple of times and left them there to dry. any clues on if im right or what might of happened?
Two things catch my eye here. The term "wrung em out" -- OUCH! If you mean TWIST them up, I wouldn't do that. The other thing is the "laundry detergent." We don't know what's in that do we? Really! I wouldn't do that either. Just a light spritz before use is all that's needed. I've used my Sonus pads about five times and they look as good as new. Except for a slight "pink" look to one of them. ;)

The 6" LC Constant Pressure pads have velcro across the entire back of the pad. Note - The OLD 6" (or maybe it was the 6.5" pad) had velcro that covered part of the back of the pad.

The 7.5" LC Constant Pressure pads are made completely differently than the 6" pads. With the 6" pads, the foam pad is attached to blue "constant pressure" foam and then velcro is attached to the blue foam. With the 7.5" pads, the foam pad is attached to a blue "constant pressure" foam. The blue foam attaches to a very thin plastic backing. The plastic backing is attached to the velcro. I.e...

6" Pads - pad foam -> constant pressure foam -> velcro
7.5" Pads - pad foam -> constant pressure foam -> plastic backing -> velcro

For more info in the pads, click the links in my post, above.

FYI... Unless something has changed recently, the LC Constant Pressure pads can only be purchased from Proper Auto Care. They are made exclusively for Proper Auto Care. (www.properautocare.com). LC pads from other retailer look similar but are not the same. (I don't know if they are better, but the Constant Pressure pads from Proper Auto Care ARE different.)

Regards,

Dan.
