New Foam Gun For Under $10 Bucks.... Pics

That actually looks pretty neat.

It doesn't really matter that the car is covered in foam, but that the soap is on there to lube the paint for less marring.

I'll pick one up and give it a whirl next time I go to Target, I'm sure it will be useful in our nasty winters for pre-soaks, etc.

No it doesn't produce a ton of foam but it's enough to get the job done well and I save $40+ bucks from buying a real foam gun.

i honestly would just save up and buy a real foam gun, they can be had for around $32+ on amazon...

edit : just saw one for $23.88... Amazon.com: gilmour foam gun

I saw that earlier too, when I was looking for a pic of my Spray and Wash Gun.. What is the difference between the Foamaster and the Foamaster II???? Because if there is not a real difference, I'm in... If there is a real difference is $36.14 a good deal on the Foamaster II?

I bought one of the Target ones a while back, and I like it for a couple of reasons.

On my Zaino'd car, even when it is really dirty, I can put DG901 in there, shoot the car, let it dwell, then rinse, and the car comes out pretty much clean. I can then follow with my 2 bucket wash, or ONR wash, and my wash mit stays very clean.

Also, after polishing a car, I can hit it with that thing, and DG901, then rinse, and it will remove all of the polishing dust.

Basically they do the same thing, but the Foamaster II uses a plastic dial to set the ratio where the original one used a sliding brass cylinder to adjust the ratio:

Amazon.com: Gilmour Foamaster Cleaning Gun, #75QGF4: Home Improvement

Amazon.com: Gilmour Foamaster Adjustable Multi Ratio Cleaning Gun, #75QGFMR: Home Improvement

The one you have to watch out for is the one that does not have an adjustable ratio:

Amazon.com: Gilmour Foamaster Cleaning Gun, #75QGF4: Home Improvement

That one is set at 4 oz. per gallon where the other two are adjustable from to 1, 2, 4, 6, or 12 oz. per gallon.

i wish amazon would put the exact model that they are selling, it seems mis-leading if they send you an item that isn't the one pictured...

Does the Gilmour have adjustable water only settings as well? For example, straight water power stream, fan, or normal spray?

no

but with some quick connects and an inline valve

it is very easy to switch it out for the nozzle of you choice

Thanks for the review, Josh.

If for no other reason than being inexpensive, it is COMPACT! Might be a nice touch for us mobile detailers who like using foam to start emulsifying the dirt, but don't really need it for thick foam/barrier agent, as we are polishing afterwards anyway.

Ive been using this for a long time now. I never wanted to make a post because I thought I would be flammed. I think that it is decent for the price. The next time I wash, Ill make a short clip to get an idea of the soap application. It does save some time because you can keep it in your hand while you wash and keep spraying the surface with soap.

I just got one, definitely better than just a prewash rinse. It definitely helps break up dirt on the paints surface before a real wash, and it's 7 dollar price tag is a steal. I wish walmart still had the ones that Griots is selling.

Just bought and tried this thing out today, WOW, nice!! :cooleek:

My mom's car was looking like hell amidst the other two clean cars at our household, so I figured I'd test it out tonight. A few thoughts:

-I like the fact that it is so easy to switch between soap and plain water, however the pressure isn't that great so I'd use a nozzle with more pressure for the nasty areas (wheels/tires/wells) first. No biggie.

-The foam/soap is great, just like Joshvette's pics (I took a few, but don't know how to upload). I used 1.5oz of Duragloss 902 in the canister, which was way more than enough to thoroughly rinse the entire vehicle (Bimmer X3) down twice. I let it dwell a few minutes and the foam looked pretty good and wasn't drying or anything, I don't let soap sit on the paint long anyways. I didn't touch the paint with anything, just soap and rinse since it was getting dark quick.

-It doesn't feel all that sturdy (time will tell), but I think I paid $8 bucks for it, so I'm not complaining.

-FUN to use! Now I only need one (the rinse) bucket, no more lugging around two 5 gallon buckets around.

I am hugely impressed with this in it's ability to conserve soap and it's foaming/soaping ability. The coolest item (at $8 bucks, no less) that I've purchased in a long time.

Good call, Josh!! :xyxthumbs

Here are a few pics. This was with 1.5 oz of Duragloss 902 CWC in the soap canister.

This is perfect for someone like me who does not want to drop $50+ on a Gilmour, but still wants a nice foam gun/soap dispenser for added wash safety/fun.

Just keep in mind there is no consistency to the amount of "soap solution" being dispensed from the soap canister, as it fills with water.... Looks like a waste of $10 or so to me.... Probably better off with a proper 2 bucket method. But congrats to you if you like it.
