New Duragloss Product...

At $10+ for 16 ozs it's expensive if they don't make it available in gallons. Like the idea of Aquawax in the solution but wonder if it will limit it's versitility--have used ONR to wipe interior and headliner and to clean windows in the car and house--Aquawax might eliminate this type of use.

I agree. I also like using ONR for these things.

If you google Duragloss No Rinse you'll get a link to a singaporean forum...It seems that Singapore has been a testbed for Duragloss products...It's been available in Singapore for two years and to my surprise Duragloss has come up with coating....Duragloss Ceramic Coating has been available there for couple weeks..

Back to DNR In a nutshell they find DNR gives cleaner car after it rains compared to ONR... Gloss & Shine is about the same...

I've seen more than a few of their products "tested" in Singapore. What do they have against testing here? Unless the "brothers" errr or Sal are just buying technology/products from elsewhere. I just don't understand it.

Got my order in along with another gallon of my favorite spray wax and some water spot remover that I have been wanting to try (got to take advantage of that flat $5 shipping!). Going to try it today.

Here's my quick review...

I was detailing a 2011 Toyota Camry in black (some of the softest clear I've dealt with). This car was badly neglected and seemed to not have any wax or protection on the paint (this might have impacted the performance). I mixed 1.5 ounces of Duragloss 931 "Rinseless Wash with Aquawax" into about 3 gallons of warm water in a bucket with a grit guard. I was using a microfiber mit to wash with and 530g microfiber towels to dry.

I use ONR very regularly (the only way I wash my DD and use it for most other washes) so I had a pretty good baseline to compare it against.

With the first pass I can tell right away that this product has more lubricity than ONR. You can just tell that it glides over the paint smoother than ONR. This was very encouraging especially since I was washing a car with ultra soft clear and black paint. I didn't happen to use it for clay lube (already had some clay lube mixed up in my spray bottle) but I have a feeling that this will be my new go to solution for clay lube. The lubricity was top notch!

The second thing that struck me was the cleaning power. As I used it on the bumper that still had some North Carolina summer bugs guts on it, I was impressed how well it broke down some tough stains that would normally call for a couple shots of some stronger cleaners. I would say that DG 931 certainly outperforms ONR in this area as well at least in my first impression.

Now for the negative. I have to put a disclaimer on this point though. I suspect that this characteristic had a lot to do with the fact that this car had almost zero wax/sealant on it. In my experience with ONR, cars with little or no LSP on it make it hard to dry the panel after using ONR. With ONR, it was more along the lines of just needing a dryer/new towel or a couple extra wipes to get it dry and streak free. With DG 931 it was much more prominent. Like I said, this car had virtually no LSP on it (water would just stand flat across the surface) and wiping off the panel after washing it with DG 931 was a chore. It was almost like wiping oil off of it.

I plan on washing my DD this week with this which wears multiple coats of every wax that comes into my hands so it should give a clearer picture of what this product should perform like in a more typical use case (imho, rinseless washes are for well maintained cars with good protection on that paint).

So my results are not conclusive yet, but as of now, I would say this product is an absolute winner. Enough for me to contact Duragloss and see if I can go pick up some of this product in 5 gallon containers. It is really that good!

Wow, sounds like another DG Diamond...I can't wait to try this out.

Please do post a pictured review, if anyone els has gotten there wash mitts on this.

Here's a quick video I put together using Duragloss 931 and some Optimum Power clean to clean up the wheels on a 2011 Camry.

Thanks for the videos. It looked like 931 was difficult to dry off the panel. Almost hydrophobic to the towels?

Yeah, I think it was just because the towels were old and wore out. After I turn the camera off, I got a brand new towel and it was much easier to wipe off.

How does the drying compare to ONR?

Does anyone other than me have problems drying with ONR? I never feel like I've gotten the surface quite dry. My towels seems to have a problem absorbing it completely. Consequently, I find myself having to go over the car again with a quick detailer just to be sure.
