New Cyclo Dual Precision Pads

Yes the threads on the Cyclo are the same as those on the PC.

Then is there a reason why we can't just use a pair of 3.5" flex backing plates similar to this one

I am curious because being able to use regular 3.5" plates would reduce height between surface and tool, and that is one of gripes I had with Cyclo.

I already use the 3.5" backing plates on both the PC and Cyclo. They work fine of both machines and are actually my preference for the Cyclo.

Ha Ha Ha I will not mind because some questions are best answered with hands-on experience. I've already added two 3.5" flex backing plates to my shopping list moment you told me it's a PC thread.

Right on Zoran. Keep me informed how you like it. I know spoiledman and bigal both know thier stuff so if you are the third voice of approval.. I'M SOLD! Specially considering I just got a GREAT deal from a fellow autopian on a boatload of cyclo pads

I find it interesting that some people want to decrease the distance between the machine's housing and the surface being worked (low profile pads), while others like to *increase* it (e.g., the Edge system and its double-thick pads). It's something that's never really piqued my interest in all the years I've used the thing...If anything I think I'd prefer to have a greater distance (i.e., what the Edge system effects) but I'm really :nixweiss about it.

It might be one of those personal things. Personally I don't like the distance because I feel it puts my hands and body in position that is more uncomfortable to work in, further away from a car, making it also harder for me to follow contours. That is at least case for me with PC and I was feeling that is the case for me with Cyclo too. However, that's still a theory as I need to actually get those pads and try Cyclo over same car it was driving me nuts on. I will let you know how it went for me even if that means I will have to eat my own words.
