New clay bar

Did anybody hear of a new type of clay bar? Its a black sponge about 3 inches by 5 inches , on 1 side it has a layer about 1/8 in thick of what looks like rubber. It is used during the washing process , since you use soapy water for the lube. The detailer that show it to me says that it is much faster then regular clay. He got it from Pro Finish in Elk Grove Village Illinois
 
Its basically abrasive impregnanted foam. I know alot of people were gettting pissed with Clay Magic controlling the market so they had to find an alternative, problem with this as I can see is that the surface doesn't revew itself like clay.
