Hello all.



My name is David. I live in the Mid-west and drive a 2004 Mazda 6.



I found your forums through Mazda6Club.com. Have been a member there for a while, but finally decided to join-up here and read up and get some good tips and ask questions and what not.



Been surfing around the forums a bit...looks like a good group of people you have hear (nature wise, and experience wise).



Hope to get some good advise from all of you in the future,

Welcome aboard! I'm over in west Omaha, and one of the moderators here at Autopia. Let me know if you want to get together sometime . . . if you're new to detailing and short on supplies, you're welcome to samples of just about anything I have on my shelves (polishes, waxes, sealants, etc.).

Hello the other and Tortoise.



For car detailing, I have been thinking about picking up



This package



I have heard nothing but good things about Zaino, and would like to get my car really cleaned up and protected before winter (salt, road stuff, etc).



Have a bit of body work that needs to be fixed prior, but my g/f's brother will be doing all of that (he does great work, and used to work for a body shop, as a painter even). I will pay for supplies, and he will most likely be paid in grain alcohol (he is of age, it's alright).

He tells me it can be fixed with Duramix, I figure it's worth a try.



Anyway, I've rambled enough. It's friday afternoon, should probably do something productive before I leave work...

Zaino is, indeed, good stuff, and would be a good choice for winter durability. I have the Zaino lineup on my shelf, too; if you want to give it a try before you dive in and buy the kit, let me know. I can get you sample sizes of everything, or once your bumper is patched up, I'd be happy to help you do the initial detail to switch over to Z, and you can decide what you'd like to do with it from there.

That would be amazing (samples comment).

I have the bumper fix patched. Getting it painted won't be for like another week and a half.

It might be easier if you saw my car for my next comment, but I do have some touch up paint from the dealer.

I'm sure there's a post somewhere here about this, but is there a tried and true technique to fixing little like rock chips on the car? Not big chips of paint missing, but just a little divot?

I'll see if I can get a decent picture of what I am talking about. To start, I cleaned the area off, and put a little dip of touch up paint there (to kinda seal it), but if you look close it looks sloppy (ofcourse).
