Just wanted to introduce myself and say howdy to everyone. I am impressed with all the threads and how Some hardcore Carnuba Guys are trying out the Synthetic products:xyxthumbs

I currently use #2 SMr,then p21 PCL, then Souveran. It comes out pretty good. I wash using 2 mits One below the moulding and one above. I get very light swirl marks after about 10 washes and wondered What product I could try to use as a prep priror to Wax?

I think I want to stay with conventional and not go the synthetic route?

Thanks for your help as You guys really know your stuff:bow

CLick on my SIggy 4 more Pics!

Nice M! Not a big fan of the chromed rims because I think the chrome satin or whatever they call the OEM finish looks real nice. To each his own. As for swirls, I like Megs. DACP followed by SFP.

Black Regal---> I didn't think anyone would remember. It's nice to be back. What are you using these days on the Blinding light :confused:

Thanks 4 compliments ------>ajbarnes, Jesstzn

Greg---->I too like the OEM finish however, I did notice when My Chrome rims are slightly dirty and have a haze over entire wheel, It looks exactly like the OEM finish. Of course, if you look close they are dirty but from about 5' away, same thing.

Here are my CHROME WHEELS Dirty:

evodelta--------> As you can see by my Siggy The Wheels are in fact OEM. I actually purchased another REAR Set and then had them chromed at www.santaanaplating.com It's a 5 step process which yields very impressive results!

What I've been using lately is Einzsett's Paint Polish (Lack Politur) aka "green can". I like it because it stays wet longer than other polishes from Meguiar's and 3M which allows me to work it well with a polisher at lower speeds to avoid swirls and hologramming. I stick with polishing and finishing pads and avoid cutting pads which are a bit too aggressive on BMW's for my tastes .

I'd rather not use a rotary polisher on the soft BMW paint but if the D/A isn't cutting it, I don't have a choice. I always end up following with a D/A to finish off the panel and it usually looks great.

Usually there are some swirls left that would take some fairly aggressive polishing on my part so I always explain my reasons for not removing them. My philosophy is some swirls are better left alone because to remove them would mean a degradation of the clearcoat which IMO is the wrong thing to do.

On almost all the M5 details I protected with Zaino. The stuff is unbeatable in durability and gloss. Dave wanted me to top with Pinnacle Souveran, which I did. On Jon's car I used Klasse All In One topped with Souveran, a very popular combo. On light colors and silver I like the reflectivity of Zaino. On dark colors carnauba looks awesome. But I leave that decision to the customer. I'll use whatever they want me to (if I have it).
