I know nothing of audio, but that sounds impressive!

I've never been much of a fan for SPL but I still love a good system! :bigups

Makes me miss my days of IASCA competition. :(

My left ear has constant Tinnitus due to years of audio abuse. Concerts and audio systems! :rockon

If you get the chance look into Cascade Audio. They make sound deadening baffles to help tune and deaden boxes and behind speakers.

Their sound deadening sheets and panels are audiophile quality home and auto. (I saw you used Dynamat)

Nice clean install by the way. I'm a little fanatical how things look without the trimmings on installs. Have you addressed license plate buzz?

Yeah I have the dynamat pad behind the plate the only rattle u can hear out side my car is my gas door and everything to fix that, I made it alot less noticable with some little stopped i put where the metal was hitting but still there a little bit. Ill look into that deading because after listening to the new JL set up I'm so disapointed my old set up was easily 10x louder this 13w7 is only doing about 132db in my car at safe levels and I know they don't take abuse like DD's do. But again I might have to live with because the kinda SPL the DD's were generating were destroying my car so bad the only thing holding it together was dynamat lol.

Over the years I've had some pretty big car systems. Especially 2 summers ago, it got a big crazy needless to say.
It started from this: 2 Treo SSX 18's 2 modded treo ssx 2k's
box.jpg

box2.jpg

treo_002

treo_005.sized.jpg

then went to one treo ssx 18
TREO_009

Then went to 4 15" treo ssx's and 4 treo 2k amps.

This is the first box i had in my explorer when I first got it, 4 ten kicker l7's and kicker 2500.1

Now I havent had anything for quite awhile and the current obsession, well its been a hobby since I was about 18 but has come full circle now is firearms and shooting. I go out at least twice a week to the range :D
This is my new baby and she goes every where i go ;)

Im surprised theres not a firearms shooting thread anywhere on here!

Really like your DD setup. It brings me back to around the year 2000 when MMATS and DD would have their SPL battles at the IASCA events. Those DD 15s and Juggernaut C 15s were insane speakers and threw so much SPL. Its been a long time since I was involved in the car audio scene, but I was always a SQ guy.

I actually just was going through some old stuff the other day and found catalogs from DD, MMATS, JL, USAmps, and PPI. Brought back good memories. I really loved those old PPI Art series amps.

Either way... love both your setups. I can imagine the JL is no where near as loud as those monster 50lb DD units, but it still must sound nice.

I get it 4 punch pro 15's and a RF power 1000 mosfet were deadly to my vehicle body panel wise. The mids and highs were 2 right RF punch 150s and 2 left punch 150s with and Audio Control EQX series 2 (I still have) everything was crossed over at 64 db per octave. Hade to run a second ambulance alternator and battery with capacitors. Highs and mids were Polk and MB Quart.

4 15's sounds insane the amount of air being moved by a setup like feel like a wind tunnel in the car, can't light a lighter blows your hair around. Ahhh the good old days when I had an SUV.

those days are long gone, but i recall my s10-zr2. it pounded. crossfire 1000d sub amp on 2 10" jl audio subs. jl seperates up front. crossfire 4 chnl. amp. it was loud, but very clean. i had way too much $$$ in that truck. i still love a good sounding system.

I was fortunate to demo Rockford products. It was a little bit too much. The vehicles electronics and gauges would totally mess up at 3/4 volume. You could watch the vehicle contract and expand a shows. I still like great sound just more at home now.

This thread makes me want a little something again. Fun topic.
