New and Confused

I am new to this site and have found tons of useful information. I always thought that I kept my car clean until I visited this site. I have a black 2004 300M. The finish is still in excellent shape but contains swirls and spider webs. I am looking for that deep wet look. I purchased the PC, along with the sonus pads and sonus 2 and 3. I also purchased the Klasse twins. I was instructed to use Sonus2, then 3, then AIO and finally the glaze. However, I just read a post that stated that using AIO could undo any work completed before it. I am confused. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I know, and using the experience I have had with them, the SFX polishes are pure abrasive polishes in that they do not leave fillers or anything else behind on the paint. AIO will leave you a clean, prepped surface for your LSP without undoing your work with the polishes.

I think you have cleared up my confusion. Since the finish is not in bad shape, I will start with sonus 3 and see how it turns out. Thanks again.

dave300m, Welcome aboard. I agree wholeheartedly with you. All those years of detailing in isolation and six months ago I discover Autopia which has changed me for ever :D

Thank you all. My stay so far at Autopia has been expectional. I used the PC for the first time yesterday, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised at the ease of use. My only problem was trying to adjust the speed as I was polishing, but I am sure that will come in time. I started out with the sonus 3 and the sonus blue finishing pad ( give me time to get the abreviations down ) and it did not remove all the swirls. I am thinking about trying sonus 2 with the blue finishing pad, stronger polish but same pad. Would I get better results? If that doesnt work, I will try using sonus 2 with the associated pad. I want to be as mild as possible.

Thanks to everyone for their assistance and for making my first week as a member enjoyable. BTW, How do I had an avatar to my signature?

I'm not surprised that SFX-3 and a finishing pad didn't remove your swirls. That's a pretty mild approach. I'd go with SFX2 and a polishing pad next. If that doesn't work, then use a yellow pad.

To add an avatar picture, you click on "CP", then "Edit options", and choose "Use an avatar" or "change avatar" or something like that.

I believe it can only be 100x100 pixels, and <3000-byte file size.
