HI,

I just purchased a brand new 911 and want to try and keep it as nice and clean as the day it was delivered. Could someone please advise me on the best products to use for the following.

1) Dash

2) instrument panel...plastic

3) navigation screen

4) windows

5) tire dressing....gloss

6) rims/wheels

Thanks in advance.

The "best" is a subjective term. Each person will have his/her own conclusions as to the best product for each particular application.

That said, here are my choices for your list.

1) Sonus Total Eclipse

2) Meg's PlastX

3) Meg's Interior Detailer

4) If you mean the outside of windows, Clearkote Vanilla Moose. Inside...damp microfiber towel.

5) Poorboy's Natural Look for a dark, matte look. Or for a bit more gloss and durability --> Wolfgang Tire Gel

6) To clean wheels...ordinary car shampoo and a safe wheel brush. I also use a MF mitt to clean wheels. For stubborn brake dust, I use P21S Wheel Cleaner. It's the only wheel cleaner I know of that guarantees not to harm any type of wheel. After cleaning the wheels, use Klasse All-In-One and a paint sealant to keep the wheels shiny and easy to clean. After you seal the wheels, a weekly cleaning of the wheels will never require more than simple car shampoo and water.

:welcome to Autopia Jeff! :wavey

Thanks for the suggestions Paul. Can you tell me if there is one specific place you can buy these products at....either online or maybe Autozone?

Autozone would probably have Meguiars PlastX and the Meguiars Interior Detailer. The others...

P21S Wheel Cleaner and Total Eclipse are available at http://www.autopia-carcare.com

Vanilla Moose and Natural Look (I think) are available at http://www.exceldetail.com Pick up some microfiber products while you're there too. :up

Sorry there isn't one place to buy all of the mentioned products. If Natural Look isn't available at Excel, http://www.poorboysworld.com will have it.

As White95Max said, you're probably going to get totally different responses for people, because almost everyone has their own methods that they use. He did give really good advice though, and I totally agree with everything he said. Here's my input as well:

1) Dash - I've used Meg's quick interior detailer for this, as well as Meg's interior vinyl and rubber dressing with UV protection.

2) instrument panel...plastic - I'd just use a damp microfiber to clean this, if it has defects or needs polished somehow, probably a good plastic polish such as PlastX or just an all around abrasive polish that works on everything, such as the SSR line from poorboy's world.

3) navigation screen - Meg's Quik Interior Detailer, no contest. By far the best for navigational/stereo areas.

4) windows - To clean, just water and a microfiber towel. Works fine unless it's really dirty. If so, I break out my water/vinegar/alcohol mix and be sure to buff away any streaks. I top the windshild (on the outside) with Rain-X.

5) tire dressing....gloss - I've used Black Magic's tire foam before with good results, goes on really easy, cleans good and the look lasts for a long time. Poorboy's world's stuff is great too.

6) rims/wheels - If it's just light dust, I just use water to wipe them down with. If it's a little heavier, I use a water / simple green mix. If it's real bad, out comes Poorboy's world wheel cleaner, nothing I've tried touchs it. Once it's clean, I top it with a sealent wax. For the wheels on my Focus, I used Klasse AIO topped with Klasse SG.

For #2 and #3 I use and recommend Plexus applied with the softest microfiber you can find.
