IMO the mineral spirits interfered with the bonding of the Zaino. A mineral spirit wipe-down should probably be followed with a dish detergent wash before applying a synthetic sealant.WS6Fury said:I definately stripped all wax off the car, put it this way, i have a nice soft sponge I soaked with mineral spirits I rubbed the car down with after claying the car. It actually removed a lot of the spots the clay bar couldn't penetrate and dissolve!! Worked great and I recommend it to everyone. Just make sure your car is perfectly clean.:up
I used two coats of z-5 to remove as much micro marring as I could, then applied 2 coats of Z-2. The night I covered my car I washed the car down, then went the cover.
How is the gloss and reflective qualities of Zaino affected with different toppers? And what type of toppers are best?
And Klasse? Everyone always talks about it, but will it provide that extreme reflective quality silver cars need to look their best?
Do not expect two layers of Z-5 to hide any marring. In my experience it will take 6-8 layers of Z-5 to have any effect on even the most minor of swirl marks.
I’ve been experimenting on different sections of my Jet Black paint; different synthetics topped with different carnaubas. Before that I played with different carnaubas on top of 30+ layers of Zaino. If you use a good quality carnauba (Souverän or P21S/S100) and apply very thin layers, you can add a lot of depth with little or no loss of reflectivity. Carnaubas with a higher oil content, such as Zymöl, do not work as well on the Zaino.
In my experience Klasse doesn’t quite come up to Zaino for reflectivity - at least on my black paint.
As always, YMMV!
