Need to remove touch-up paint. Lacquer thinner, Langka Blob Eliminator, or?

They only took 4 or 5 hours to send me an MSDS dated 2001, old format not OSHA compliant.

So let's see if they redo the MSDS and send it after the Holiday.

If not, everyone can judge for themselves.

If I were a betting man, I'd wager they've done as much as they're going to do unless prompted by the fear of serious consequences (which I consider unlikely).

Not that I plan to quit using/recommending the stuff though :o

Well, the stuff is set to be delivered today. If Accumulator has used it without any issues as he mentioned (unless he's just a paid shill for the product -- I kid of course ;)), then I think I'm probably going to trust him/it and use it today barring any new information.

Ron, is there anything you recommend I put on the spot after using the product that could possibly help neutralize/minimize any possible long-term damage, or is that really not possible without knowing what's actually in the product?

Primer or paint.

They have not sent a legal MSDS as of this morning for the Eliminator by the way.

Guess they are not going to abide by the laws of the land.

Well thanks for looking into it Ron. Oh, and that's one more thing I forgot to ask Accumulator -- whenever you used the LBE, did you always cover up all the areas that the LBE got on with touch-up paint (I'm assuming not).

Not the whole area. When I used the LBE to remove the old touchup, I did redo the touchup with my own touchup paint (insert joke about whether my touchups were much better than the ones I removed :chuckle: ) but only put the new paint in the chip, maybe slopping it out around the edges just a little bit. But the LBE had contacted a larger immediate area surrounding the chip and the entirety of that did *not* get covered with new paint.

SO..guessing where you're heading with this line of inquiry...no the LBE didn't mess up the surrounding paint. I'm trying to recall for sure whether I've only used the LBE on panels that still wore factory paint....eh, my memory is failing me, so I can't say how it'd work on a repaint. I *want* to say I've tried it and it worked OK, but I just can't be certain (and I'd sure be mighty careful about limiting the dwell time if I tried it at all). Oh man, did I do this on the M3's reshot front bumper cover or not?!? I just can't recall :nixweiss

I *have* used the Dr Colorchips solvent on repainted panels without any problems, I know that for certain.
