Need to do some sanding this week, good polishing compound?

No SMR Rich.



It would appear that SMR is the american line and they only do a UK specific line.



Give em a ring I say.



OT - Did 2 hours sanding last night and flipping heck thats got to be the hardest work! Autoglym SR didnt get the dullness out as expected. Hit a slight problem tho - one of the bits I was sanding, I had got it right down but there was still some darker paint left so I kept sanding and then :shocked , some white stuff appeared from no where :( Looks like I went down to the primer :nixweiss

Whilst I was carefully sanding 2 small paint blobs, all of a sudden on normal paint near the blob, away a tiny bit of paint comes to reveal the primer :doh



So, at least its not too bad for my 3rd attempt at wet sanding (which scares the crap outa me tbh!), and the mm long marks will just need filling with paint and then a tiny bit of sanding again.



I used the autoglym paint renovator (3M are useless!) and this worked pretty well from what I can see.



The only minor problem I can tell is that in a certain light - where the paint blobs were (which is now sanded) looks rippled, almost like a dent :nixweiss

Cloths arent here yet. They are 4-7 day delivery and they were ordered on Tuesday so fingers crossed tomorrow or Saturday :)



Edit - even bought some plastic storage containers (like a mini cabinet with drawers) today to store the MFs so they are in their own labeled section (ie draw for wheels, for paint etc) :D :rolleyes: :)
 
Good plan! I just whack mine all in the bowl together. I only use cotton towels on my rims anyway, maybe this will change when the mfs come!

I used to live in Wymans brook area. I Still have a lot of family/friends in cheltenham.



I moved 12 years ago. what neighbourhood did you live in and what school did you goto.
 
I just found out that a child hood friend is playing for the Cheltenham Football team Div 2. Is there anyway to find out if he is still playing? His name was Micheal Jackson (no joke)
