Hey fellas! I just found out that autogeek is having a 15% sale now so I am going to go a bit wild since I have virtually no detailing supplies!
I wanted to buy the Sonus Clay, but autogeek does not carry them. Autogeek carries the Pinnacle and the Wolfgang clay. Would you guys recommend either one of those clay because I hear people using mostly the Sonus...not the other two brands.
Now on to microfibers...... Cobra is the only brand that they carry. Do they have a good reputation and would it be safe microfiber to use that wouldn't marr the paint after wiping the polish/wax off.
With as many question that you have asked, you still have no detailing supplies.:shocked
I don't get it. :faint:
The clay that Sonus sells is great, however for someone with no detailing supplies, you should take advantage of the best deals available to you to start filling you detailing inventory, even if it means going to Autozone and buying OTC clay kit (they work very well). Do not worry about the best clay, just get some clay and stop going through analysis paralysis. I use Automagic clay, Meguiars, Zaino and Sonus. The clay is graded depending upon the severity of contaminants on your paint. For your average Joe however the medium to weaker clay is best because of less marring. Each clay is "the best" depending on the circumstance. I just used some Meguiars white clay (weak) on a new vehicle because the contaminants are not expected to be at a high level.
The Cobra microfiber towels are great. I use them all the time myself. But there again the high quality towels are just that high quality. You are paying for the added confidence that you are not going to scratch your paint. I have a Sonus MF towel kit that I love. However also keep in mind that the world of Microfiber is changing drastically. Pepboy, Kmart, Target and Walmart are starting to produce some pretty impressive MF towels. Pick up a Viking kit at Kmart or Sears for $9.99. Also I am told, that Viking makes a nice green detailing towel.
Please get yourself started. Get started easily by going to a Auto Parts Store (Carquest and NAPA carry some products from the Meguiars Mirror Glaze Line) , Target, or Kmart. Please get over this analysis paralysis, and come on in the detailing water, the temperature is just fine!!!!!
