Need some help with some 3M products

I got from Perfect-it III MG and then some Perfect-It II RC,

Are these ok to use together? Should I take the Perfect-It II RC back and get the Perfect-It III RC?

I know the II is suppose to be alittle more abrasive than the III but is it ok?

and what are you going to be doing w/ these products. IMHO the RC is too abrasive to use w/ the pc, but w/ the rotory it works great. The machine glaze but its too thick to be working w/ the pc as well but its ok... id rather reach for the TOL swirl mark removers or the menzerna. If your doing things by PC

Perfect IT II and III Rubbing Compound work great with the PC and by hand. PI III RC leaves a better finish and dusts less. If you can bring back the PI II RC and get the PI III RC I would but if you can't PI II is still a great product.

Machine Glaze also works great with a PC and hand. PI III RC and Machine Glaze are my go to polishes. I use them with the PC often.

would you say that the PI III is more abrasive than the 39009 from 3M?

I hit a gate a month or two ago and am trying to totally make the marks vanish. You can't feel them at all some I'm pretty sure they'll buff out fine. My Wal-Mart 3M RC isn't cutting it and I'm wondering if the PI III or PI II will do a better job.

Basically my goal is to make my black car look better than normal. I'm using a PC and am looking for the correct 3M products to give me a good base. Then I'm doing Klasse AIO followed by three coats of SG then topped with Pinnacle.

yes PI III is more abrasive than the 39009. If you want to use the RC then go for it, i think it will leave a haze to the finish especially on a ws6 but if others have tried it and have had it work. try it in an area and see if it works for you. try hitting it up w the RC and an orange pad then a polishing pad then go to the MG then aio etc...

I really only plan on using the RC on the spot that I hit the gate on.

I plan on really going over the whole car with MG.

The 39009 actually removed all my swirls/scratches, but I'm just looking for something better.

What stevet said :xyxthumbs And I'd take the PI-II back for the PI-III also.

I've used the PI-II and PI-III RCs on all types of paint, but admitedly not on an '02 Pontiac. I've never had any problems with them by hand/Cyclo, or PC (and of course they work fine with the rotary too). I'd try it with a polishing pad first, and only use the orange pad if you reall need it. Work it until it breaks down fully (you'll quickly get a feel for this) and it'll probably leave an *almost* ready-to-wax finish. Don't bear down much on the machine, let the product do the work (bearing down before the abrasives diminish can lead to hazing).
