Hey Guys,

Well the wife was caught up in a 6 car accident and her car was totaled (shes ok though)

So went car shopping this weekend since she works full time and needs a vehicle. We picked up a 2010 Mercedes Benz GLK350 4matic

I normally don`t go fold that old of a vehicle, but this thing is very clean, you can tell the previous owner didn`t use it much. even came with a warranty. So after test driving it, she wanted it.

I`ve only had 2 previous vehicles that had leather (94 rx7, 2011 MS6). This is my 1st MB (well hers lol) and its leather. Does anyone recommend a cleaner and a conditioner that`s good for a MB leather? not sure if its something specific.

Also, once she gets home with it ill take a picture of what I`m talking about. When we went to go look at it we didn`t notice on the front seats near where your ribs are it has some yellow on the white leather. would that be sun damage? or when white leather wears it shows a little yellow tone? its nothing major though. figured i would see if anyone knows.

hard to tell from the picture, but if it is sun fade, then I`d take it to a good upholsterer and replace the panel .. even with cleaning it may not look as good as the rest of the interior ..

sorry to hear about accident and congrats on the new vehicle .. be prepared for service $$$ $hock !!

btw .. take a warm damp towel and rub gently and see if there is any improvement or color transfer ..

I`d try a strong cleaner, and see how it comes clean.
How is the overall leather.

To compare, look at what you believe is a ~clean unroughed section~
Does the outer seat bolsters, seat base, center armrest show the same color and TEXTURE...

If that area in your pic is fine texturally, consistent with the rest, IMO, depending on your circumstances, possible consider getting both front seats, and center consoled resprayed-redyed. Even when you get a section of leather replaced, most upholstery shop might spray to make the entire piece consistent.

Fair warning though. Any decent shop IME runs top dollar....money that you might be better with mechanical repairs, depending if you are a weekend warrior wrencher or it goes to the shop. Cars these days are not good after warranty.....

All the leather is inngreat shape, no cracks, no wear, no creases. Just the yellow marks are on nthe same spots on both front seats. I havnt been able to look it over to much just yet. Our schedules always mess up one another`s.

I know she`s not worried about it. I just thought it was strange on how healthy the leather was, then random yellow, haha.

Haha, yeah I did some research before buying it to see what I was getting into. On her way home the message came on saying it`s due for the B3 service. Had to look that up, then called the dealership. Glad it was just done, they just forgot to reset the screen. That saved me $800ish lol.

Mikek9965- Nice! I like those, especially in white.

On the seat discoloration, see if it might`ve been caused by contact with the shoulder-restraint part of the seatbelt...might give you some ideas. Somehow my guess is that it`s *not* UV/sun damage but rather some kind of transfer from something rubbing on it, maybe skin oils/etc. from somebody`s arm.

both bolsters on the same area and opposite sides of the car is rather odd .. it may rule out sun damage or not ..
