Need info on rims before cleaning

I have some pretty bad rims to clean but I'm not sure if they are clear-coated...I have the HPD Cooldown 17's. Anyone know if they are clear-coated?

just rub a spot with polish and see what comes up..if it's just dirt..then it's clearcoated, if it turns black and continues to give off black then it's not coated

I am thinking if they are as you say "pretty bad" they will be polished not chrome.. Then you need some elbow grease and some poorboys wheel sealant .
