Need ideas for a presentation for a local car club

I am apart of a local car club. It's a Camaro / Firebird club and I proposed to become a sponsor for this club. Basically they would like me to present to them a presentation about my auto detailing business. To be dead straight honest I never thought of Auto Detailing on any greater level than just washing grime off of cars and waxxing them... I'm due to present within a month and I'm totally unsure where to start or what exactly they want me to present to them... ...Would anyone have any suggestions? What questions I need to answer, what they're looking for?

Maybe you should start with re-evaluating your detailing and detailing in general to something other than cleanin' grime and waxin'.

Why do you have to make a presentation to be a sponsor?

present this....

hi my name is bob and I am addicted to detailing cars...if you would like to have your car detailed by me, then call me!

LOL

what kind of presentation do you have to make? white boards with charts and all that jazz, or a demonstration on a car? I would have to say your presentation should be your own car...get it perfected as much as possible and take it in there and say...if you want your car to look like this, then give me a call and I can make it happen! hand out your cards/flyers and offer them a discount, not free details! maybe to the club owner/president, but no one else...who is to say they are going to return the favor through word of mouth??? otherwise you may end up doing 30 free details taking up a full month of your time for nothing besides spending your money to detail their cars....think about all aspects

also, what are you already planning on offering as a sponsor? Is this something to get your name out in the detailing industry or what? and are you serious you thought detailing was just wash and waxing??? then everyone and their brother would be considered a detailer, along with the 6 year old who helped his dad wax the car down the street from me....huge difference

I have a friend who is in a car club and they are going to a show this weekend...they have a guy who "details" in their club for next to nothing...but a couple of the guys are coming to me this week to get their cars ready for the show...why, because they guy in their club thinks a detailer just needs wash, clay, and wax and that is as good as the car is going to look....but the rest know better and are willing to pay for it!

First order of business would be to educate yourself on just what exactly auto detailing entails. It would be kind of embarrasing if someone were to ask detail specific questions during your presentation and you not knowing what they are talking about. Personally, if I were you I would kindly pass on this offer.

If you thought detailing was just washing and waxing cars, you'll probably look pretty stupid making a presentation you know absolutely nothing about. You could read all you want within a months time, but that can't make up for the lack of experience. BTW, as of now you should refer to your business as a car wash business, not auto detailing.

I was being simple when I said washing / waxxing cars, I do understand there is more to it than that; however, what I'm saying is I havn't found a way to explain that to a car club. I mean certainly they would know what Auto Detailing is, which is why I'm having a hard time with a presentation because I don't know what I could possibaly explain about what I do... ...I just do...

This is what I do...

Wash Exterior, Door / Trunk Jams

Wash Wheels, Tires, Wheel Wells

Dress Tires aswell as any rubber or plastic surface

Clay Bar Exterior

Remove swirl marks on Exterior

Polish / Wax Exterior

Clean / Vacuum Interior

Clean Flat Surfaces, Doors, Dashboards, Windows, Carpets, Upholstry

Dress Surfaces, Doors, Dashboards

I treat all Vynil, Leather, and Plastic surfaces...

If I'm still to vague then I'm open for suggestions...

Then explain to them those steps and why each is performed.
That’s the ticket right there.^^^

Because it simply isn’t true that:

I’m mean, they sort of, kind of know in a very general sense but most of the public, hard core car enthusiasts included, doesn’t have a clue what it really takes and why. Walk up to ten different people at any car club or car show and ask them what clay does and you’ll get ten different answers, all of them wrong.

I’ve been to a whole bunch of “intro to detailing classes that are put on for car clubs and the crowds are always the same. It doesn’t matter if they’re driving Hyundais or Ferraris, most people simply haven’t been exposed to the world of high quality detailing.
