Need Help with old white road paint *pics*

Hello everyone.

When i got my car from my parents.. no i wasnt invited for the shopping exerience... there was white dots on the underside and in the wheels and even on the paint. This was far before i was a detail adict. I have tired many things to remove this and have had no luck. I have clayed numerous times with no result. Any way i can remove this? I was thinking with the wheels i am just goign to sand them. Working my way down to a very fine grit. Any help removing this woudl be amazing help. thanks

Naphtha ( lighter fluid) or a similar commercially available solvent, lots of applications and even more patience may get the job done. Soak it with a cloth, and keep the spots wet with it. Do not rub during this process, let the chemical do the work, wipe after several minutes, repeat.

Perhaps on the non painted surfaces, lacquer thinner might do the trick but use this with extreme caution. I'd only let it sit very briefly then promptly wipe it away. This chemical always commands serious caution around automotive surfaces. ( the results of overuse might not be immediately apparent only to give you a nasty surprise sometime later on)

With these aggressive solvent approaches, if you can get the spots " to loosen up", perhaps you could completely remove them with clay.


This is likely going to be a big job.
 
:yeah , it might actually work. Just remember to wash it off with a mild degreaser before you try to wax, the gas will eat right through foam applicators or the foam inside terry and MF applicators. Learning through accidental experience (Fun Cleanup :angry )
 
ok i might try the gasoline thing because i tried for a good while last night with no luck. I will have to spend more time later but i will try the gas thing. It is in a discrete area so im not to worreied.
