Need Help With Old Glass

Hello,



I am attempting to try and restore (as best as possible) the windshield (split window) on a 1946 Chevy Stylemaster. Here is the deal... the car was repainted and there is over spray all over the windshield. To boot, there is 64 years of scratches. The windshield is actually hard to see out of especially when the sun is hitting it. What if anything can I do to repair this glass?

They seem to sell alot of different kits (differently priced) that all seem to offer the same concept. Anybody do this before or have any idea which one I would need to order?
