Need help with color selection for new vehicle!!

I really don't like red with these cars. For the most part I only like red with trucks and sports cars. Red shows marring and swirl marks pretty easily.

You still may want to consider the CTS which also comes in an awesome array of colors.

A used CTS-V is a heck of a car.

Haha I have been wanting a CTS-V for a while, but I have been trying to be conservative with my money lately. I orginally wanted a CTS, but then I thought to myself that would be stupid when I am planning on purchasing a CTS-V in about a year. That is why I started looking at the Infiniti G35 sedan and the Audi A6 2.7 biturbo. I test drove the G35 and the interior was made unbelievably cheap as opposed to the ultra plush A6. That is why I have opted for the A6 (although I love the way the G35 looks).

After my A6.... I plan on getting a Esclade EXT and THEN... the CTS-V. I usually only keep a car for apox 6-8 months.

A long time ago a friend of mine knew a guy who traded in his car every six months. He used to joke that he traded them in when the ashtrays got full. :chuckle: I guess that joke doesn't work anymore since cars don't have ashtrays anymore...:o

Thats funny. I usually buy vehicles that are aprox 1 or 2k below the blue book value and then I sell them for the blue book value. So, unlike the "typical" person that trades in their cars I do not loose any money. Most of the time, I actually make a profit which allows me to get a nicer car while maintaining the same car payments!!

Midnight blue gets my vote. I don't particularly like silver or gray. Get whatever looks best to you!

Really? Mine do, but I haven't bought a car in awhile, and I always buy used.

I had the same choices as you. The pick from your pics are easy. Dolphin Grey for sure. The silver looks might blah, but that could be the light angle and base rims. Black would drive me to drink. And for A6's, blue, red and beige are ridiculously ugly.

For some reason, certain cars look great in one color and not so good in others. I almost opted for the Dark Grey but decided on the silver with black interior. Yes, the metallic silver doesn't give that ooh and ahh as black but the upkeep is sooo much easier and the silver looks mighty classy compared to straight white. Get the windows tinted (contrasts nicely with the silver) and 18" rims and you have a car that always looks good.

One hint on silver; keep the trim as dark as possible. The window tinting helped tremendously. Contrast is everything next to a light-colored car. So, keep the tire dressing up and the wheels clean.

By the way, in the early morning, dusk and night, the silver looks fantastic and the hood reflections while driving will give your detailing efforts more than enough applause. In direct sunlight the flakes will almost glow.

If you look at most Audi ads and brochures, the car color choice is usually silver--for what that's worth. The metallic flakes do pop nicely with the proper care--and that ain't hard to do.

Good luck with the selection.

Yes, Audi fans have always said that Audi looks better in silver. In some pictures it is justified, but in others...black looks better and sometimes dolphin gray looks better.
