Need Help with CG Products! (After Clay Bar etc.)

Hi Everyone,


 


I wanted to know what Chemical Guys Products do you reccomend after a Clay Bar...



I currently use, Mr. Pink Wash, and also have a Clay Bar Mitt that I'm going to use. I also have a Gallon of Hybird V7 that I love.


 


My question is..


 


What product does CG sells that I can use after the Clay Bar Mitt that is Easy On / Easy Off like Hybrid V7. Looking for somewhat good Durablity, but I know a Easy On easy off method will not give me great durablity like nice elbow Grease.


 


Any Help is Greatly Appricated.

Any quality sealant if applied thin, thin, thin is easy to apply and buff off.   Some will give better durability than others.  In addition to 845 others that come to mind are Duragloss 105, Menzena Powerlock, HD Poxy are all durable--3-6 months.  I've used the 105 and the Poxy with V7 and they play well together.

Honestly, the only CG products that I buy,

are because of cheap prices during a sale.


Example : I bought 3 gallons containers of cg

citrus wash and gloss with wax. I bought these

because they were 15 bucks with 15 percent off,

making them about 11 bucks.


Is it the best soap that I use? Nope, but it's a great

value. What are you looking for, value or something

that works amazing?


After the clay mitt, you should seal and wax the

surface. Personally, I suggest Opti Seal and

Optimum car wax. These work great together,

and install is simple.


Opti Seal is about 25 bucks, but gives you enough

to do 40 to 60 cars. Optimum car wax is 15 bucks,

and goes very very far also.


For an easy on and off product, you could try

GPS. This can be applied by hand, and you can even

polish by hand if desired. It leaves a seal with

decent durability. I would suggest against an

all in one product, as I find better durability with

stand alone products.


If you want durability from a CG product, you

can look at second skin 6. It is 90 bucks, but

is always in the 15 percent off list, making it 77.

I still haven't found the CG product that I can not

live without. They work decently.
 
Am i reading this right about Opti Seal & Optimum Car wax? You can't get easier than those two products? Doesn't have to be CG products, but I had great experience with the Mr. Pink Soap and the Hybrid V7 so i was thinking of just staying with the brand, but if there is other things out there that is easier and works better, I'm all for it.


 


Looks like, Wash, Clay Mitt, Wipe On Opti Seal, then Spray on Optimum Car Wax and my car will have great protection for about 3-5 months?


 


What are other products in the detailing steps is as easy as those products? Anything other product in-between already listed to get my cars nice and shiny after the harsh Wester New York winter.


 


I am all about working smarter and not harder hence thats why i bought the Clay Mitt.

Im sure you will have a hard time finding a wax/sealant thats easier on/off than 845. Couple that with price, durability, looks and its hard to beat.
 
Would I use 845 after using opti seal ?


So steps would be. Wash. Clay mitt, opti seal then 845? Then would I be able to go over with it with hybrid v7 as a last step ?

845 has it's fans, I'm not one of them. You would (IMHO) be better off getting Menzerna Power Lock, Poxy, BFWD, and even Megs Ultimate Wax.
 
You can put 845 over optiseal if you want, then use v7, but id suggest starting with just 845 since its so cheap (and then v7 after every wash until you feel the 845 is gone), until you get the bug to try something else
 
Junebug is also correct that a good sealant can do what you want. Powerlock is tied for first place with 845 for me. Easy to use in all ways,excellent durability, great beading, and cheap imo per use. A little more upfront cost with powerlock, and 845 looks better on trim. But powerlock has better beading by a small margin and somewhat better durability.
